Forgive me, I understood a bit wrong the situation. Anyway, as far as I know, people who are ordering now or have pre-ordered are on the top of the list to get the products shipped of course and if you are an esoundz customer they handle every order very fast (at least that is my impression).

I thought, for some reason, that you had bought AT1 and getting the free upgrade from IK. If this is the case, then esoundz doesnt' have anything to do with the shipping. But if you have pre-ordered I am sure you are getting the "retail" boxed version with the key. And if everything works like it has worked before, esoundz will ship it quite much the instant they get their hands on the boxes.

Sorry for the small misunderstanding.
A guy with serious GAS and lots of unused VSTs. But if I someday need them...

Hi DotNoir,

No problem. It's hard to keep it all clear over several months and several hundred pages of threads :)

Actually, I did order the crossgrade/upgrade (from esoundz), but soley for AT2.

I was "banking" on the dongle - we'll see if Squids can clear things up a bit.

Meffy? Does he have lots of fur and a white stripe down the middle?
I'm thinking it might be Mully. I'm not at Musikmesse, just in Mylabmessy.

OK I have a little demo sound here.
Sorry metal heads it's a cleanish sound.
Listen to the way the SansAmp interacts with my playing.
No plug ever gave me quite the same feeling. (simulanalog came close though)
Hopefully AT2 will be just as good.

Thanks Andrew. Sounds very good. I was not able to get anything like that with the unit I borrowed - It must have been defective.

honestly?
I know this was for Putte but I will offer my 2 cents. I wouldn't choose AT2 over an AC30 in the studio. Well, unless I needed to keep the level down for various reasons (like if it was a home studio... an AC30 cranked is freakin' LOUD!!!). An AC30 is an AC30! Especially a JMI one from the England in 1964 with Top Boost if you have access to one. I am a Beatles fan so that's what I have. Cost me over $2,000 though not including the shipping from the UK.

Oh... Putte and Meffy just showed up!!!! ;) Be back in a bit. Putte!!!!!!! He says hello. :D
I didn't get to finish what I was saying. Just had a brew with Putte and Mully (edit). Nice guys. We took a picture that I will upload in a bit for your viewing pleasure. ;)

I was going to say, there are reasons I would still use AT2 in the studio if I had an AC30 (which I do). One thing I always try to do when I record a guitar is record it direct and into a hardware amp (if I happen to have the hardware amp that has a sound that suits the song). This way I can "reamp" it very easily with AT2 later in the mix. That convenience along with total recall and the ways to customize the tone make it a more powerful tool in the studio than a single guitar amp or even a small collection of them and some stomps. I even have a large collection of stomps but would still often use AmpliTube 2 for the speed of working and as long as it sounds good (which it does) then in the end that's the only thing that matters. eh....there's more to say on the subject but it is swamped here. Every two seconds someone is asking me something.

We're recording out guitar tracks atm and we are running a clean "backup track" as well as wet ones (yes, ones :P) to the computer. We're planning on trying AT2 on this record and since there are cabinets also in the setup, we get the nice feedback also on the "clean" track... We're waiting for AT2 quite anxiously :P (but not too, it's here when it's here, the free upgrade from AT1 that is)

Okay, I admit it. I wore a humansuit (with a fake backpack for my tail) and went to Musikmeffe... I mean -messe, and had a beer with Squids and Herr Putteschnaz. Good thing I practiced impersonating (I think) Multree!

I don't know yet if this was answered because I am going through the past few pages in between action at the show here. But, just to be sure, YES all AmpliTube LEs that come with Mackie, Emu, Digidesign, Cakewalk and Yamaha products qualify for the discounted upgrade. All you have to do is pick up the upgrade from a dealer that carries it like our store esoundz:

MickGael wrote:Hi Squids,
To be clear - are you saying that esoundz customers cannot choose to get download the update, but still have the boxed version (and the key) sent some time (months) later?
Oh, you mean specfically esoundz customers? That's different. I was talking about IK's more automated system for dealing with and sorting through THOUSANDS of different customers. esoundz is only dealing with hundreds so that's different. esoundz can get you a box and manual if you really want it (but you'll have to pay for shipping or just ask Elijah to throw it in on your next esoundz purchase... no problem). However the key can only be had either snail mail free from IK (for AT1 qualifiers) or pick it up cheap from Korg's website or a store that has a Steinberg key or an Ikey directly from IK. If we had the Ikey in stock we'd even sell it to you guys for our cost (but not free because esoundz WOULD have to buy it... understandable right?). Problem is we have to get set up to be a dealer for it and stock up which could take a few weeks or so.

I am not completely sure but some of you guys who have extra keys because you put licenses consolidated onto one could probably hook each other up and give it to each other. That's DEFINITELY not an official suggestion but I don't see why not. It's the app and content you are not allowed to share. But, the physical generic key? I think you can sell it, give it away, trade for chocolate... I don't see why not.

what's the CPU use like on a typical setup? i have a P4/1.9ghz 1gb 400mhz RDRAM 256mb video, and delta66 running T2. would such a setup be decent for AT2?
TIA

Oh! You remind me of something else one can do that is interesting. Let's say you like the particular sound of a hardware amp head you have like an Orange or a Bassman head (or an AC50!). You can record through one of those powersoak things direct into the computer and use AmpliTube 2 just for the cabinet simulation part and other processing effects too of course. It's very modular. It can be used in so many ways. The Stomp IO also introduces other possibilities including using it as a DI for ProTools (yeah, the quality of the DI is on par with some of the $200-300 discrete DI boxes from companies like Ampeg). Also as a midi controller for anything! This is where I get even more interested because having 6 expression pedals and 10 switches is good for ANY musician, not just guitarists.

Hi Squids,

Thanks for the response.

I promise I'm not trying to be dense, but I'm still confused.

Just trying to find out of the upgrade from AT1 to AT2 is an either/or proposition:

Can you only get the dongle if you wait for the boxed version? Or, if there is a download of the update, can you still expect to get the boxed version with the key?

Paying shipping to eSoundz is OK - just want to see if you can both download and get the box.

Sorry for not grogging what your trying to say.
