what's the CPU use like on average? and am I eligible to use Amplitube LE bundled with Tracktion 2 for the new version? TIA

I don't know yet if this was answered because I am going through the past few pages in between action at the show here. But, just to be sure, YES all AmpliTube LEs that come with Mackie, Emu, Digidesign, Cakewalk and Yamaha products qualify for the discounted upgrade. what's the CPU use like on a typical setup? i have a P4/1.9ghz 1gb 400mhz RDRAM 256mb video, and delta66 running T2. would such a setup be decent for AT2?

It's pretty good in general. But of course it depends on how many effects you have loaded. With 2 amp and effects chains fully loaded you can of course tax your CPU depending on what you have. I think your set up should be fine. Obviously the faster your set up the better (especially if you want to have many things running at once like multifx, multitimbral instrument plug-ins etc.).

I promise I'm not trying to be dense, but I'm still confused.

Just trying to find out of the upgrade from AT1 to AT2 is an either/or proposition:

Can you only get the dongle if you wait for the boxed version? Or, if there is a download of the update, can you still expect to get the boxed version with the key?

Paying shipping to eSoundz is OK - just want to see if you can both download and get the box.

No problem. First understand what the options will be from IK.

There will be a request form where you can at least say whether you have a key or are going to get your own key or want to wait and have it shipped to you snail mail style. ALL of the AT1 qualifiers will get the application in your user area anyway and if you change your mind and authorize it to a key, the system will think/know that you have a key and a key will automatically NOT be shipped to you. That's how the system works I believe. It is not one designed to deal with everyone's individual requests. That's where talking to a person who can give individual care comes in handy and that is exactly why esoundz focuses on selling just a few brands. To provide that kind of individual attention.

Okay, so that is the system for dealing with it from the manufacturer. It does NOT include the box in either case. But, if you really want the box (please let's not say "boxed version" because it is the same exact thing... just physical materials being the difference...), anyway if you really want the box and manuals etc then you can request it from elijah@esoundz.com (as long as you bought AT1 from esoundz or are at least an esoundz member who buys products there) and you might have to wait a little bit but he can get them for you. You would just have to pay for shipping or have him put it in the package of another esoundz order.

I hope it is clear now. If not then... well, either wait for the key or get one somehow so you can use it sooner. We'll get you the box and manuals if you want it from esoundz. Can't get you the full box version because there's no way for us to do that without having to buy it from IK. There's no way to cancel it being in your user area either. Remember this is an IK promo. Esoundz is just doing whatever we can to make it faster, smoother and better. Like I said, the download idea was even my suggestion mainly thinking of our esoundz customers but of course all AT1 customers benefit from not having to wait if they want to use their own key.

On a side note, I just heard the guitars for our new track and POD XT Pro doesn't sound too bad either But like said we have the safety track so we're trying AT2 on the guitars as well.

Oh. Good. I just got the word that we can carry the Ikey on www.esoundz.com and that we can fulfill at least 25-50 pieces right now. It's $29 but that's before your membership discount, so it would be less than that. You can also apply epointz to it of course if you have them (and they're not hard to get). Get people to buy something on esoundz and refer you and save $5 on this or other things each time that happens.

There's also a possibility to borrow a Triple Rectifier from a friend if emulation doesn't give us the ultimate sound We're mostly experimenting, one nice thing to have your own studio for...

Our guitarist sold his old Valvestate, since he didn't like it and now we he has a decent sound from POD 2 and TC M One. He's been wanting to get a real tube amp at some point but we'll see what happens...

I used to have a Hiwatt head. I never should have sold it. It got the perfect David Gilmour sound. I could have sent it to IK Italy to model it (the new way for Squids to preserve his vintage gear AT2 has my Fuzzface, Dynacomp, Phase 100 that I personally owned modeled... plus I sent off to Italy a few other favorites to model for future updates but I cannot reveal what they are just yet). Oh well. Maybe I will get a Hiwatt again.

I had a Hi-Watt 4x12 (straight) under my plexi and then my boogie for years...the best sounding cab I ever heard (freakin loud too)...then when I got ripped off they kicked in the speakers...tbh the next few years were a storm of cocaine, lsd and self destruction...I think I left the cab in a storage place...or maybe behind at an apartment....I did some stupid things when I was a cokanut...
