glad you enjoy them, it was quite some work to make them
BTW, I've notice that any aftertouch signal would cut off a sounding note. I guess this is not intended?

aftertouch is not implemented yet, we see what to do in the next update,

Hi,

tested V1.2 just now. It's not working properly in FL Studio 5 (V1.0 was working fine), but it works in V-Stack. Did not have time to test it in other hosts so far.

hope this gets fixed soon

cheers, akj

many thanks akj, we will check again in the new FL Studio

Same here, sometimes it seems to work fine, other times it corrupts the graphics. If I find a sure way to reproduce it I'll let you know :)

Cool! I'll be getting myself a keyboard with aftertouch in the near future :D

Please, and when you're at it , please add polyphonic aftertouch as well. The lack of aftertouch (and not being able to assign any parameter to velocity and aftertouch) has kept me from buying this synth.

How many soft synths actually support polyphonic aftertouch? and how many keyboards, synths and controllers? Is there really a market for that?

when can we expect a fix for FL support?

There are a few: Arturia synths, Melohmann, but I own only one that does, Z3ta+. There must be more.

Unfortunatelly, I haven't seen any new controllers with poly aftertouch, but, there's enough produced in the past and available second hand. Is there a market for poly At ? I don't know. But it's a shame that one of the most immediate and expressive ways of controlling the sound isn't widely supported. PM synths seem to be the best candidate for such control, I think.
It's a topic fit for its own thread.

I don't think I could really use poly aftertouch, but I agree that all soft synths should at least support channel aftertouch.

polyphonic aftertouch is not a problem, I've added that to SaxLab already,

question is: looking at Modelonia which parameters would you like to assign to velocity and aftertouch?

Velocity is already assigned to some parameters

two weeks at least, I'm working on EVE 2 at the same time

my idea (could be wrong) is that poly AT raises to much the price of the controllers,

also, both poly and channel AT are not widely used by musicians,
you know already the trend lately was knobs and faders over the keys

a true piano player wants touch not AT, that is weighted keys,

organists?, ther are few true synth player IMHO,

most plays piano or tweak knobs, <grin>

Hi Ligih,
Thank you for the reply.

When it comes to assigning parameters to velocity and aftertouch, I usually look for parameters that affect the timbre. Modelonia has a lot of these.

It all depends on the sound and how I'm going to play it but this is what I usually do with my other synths:

Asssign:
- aftertouch to pitch bend and/or harmonic content.
The above reveals the well known problem with channel aftertouch : play with both hands. Try to modulate the pitch of one note - every note you hold will be affacted - not good. Makes for a performance fit for Mickey Mouse. That's why a need for poly AT.

- velocity to envelope attack
- velocity to an alternative harmonic content ( as opposed to the one already assigned to aftertouch).

With the above in place, I can play very expressively, never having to reach for a knob/slider to change the sound, as all the important parameters that can shape the sound in a meanigful way are already under my control ( under my fingertips ). :)

Adding polyphonic aftertouch to a solo instrument like a sax ( SaxLab) is not as important as in a polyphonic instrument, I think. Especially one that emulates the guitar. As how can you use poly AT on a solo line ?

Good points.

Sad though. Synths allow for such amazing control over the harmonic content of sound, but no advanced means of control using the keybaord exclusively.

I love to have and use knobs, sliders, vector pads, joysticks etc. But when I want to play with both hands what use are they ?
