I have a couple of comments:
1. I had the MIDI 1st-instrument-only problem too; is there supposed to be a place in the "new MIDI player" window to select the instrument for the channel, or is that supposed to be done somewhere else?
The channel-1 thing is a bug. Fixed in beta 6.
2. I'm not quite sure what the "start" button/dragger is supposed to do. Right now, if I have a loop mark in the note edior and I move the start marker, then the loops seems to loops that much further past the loop marker. Is that what it is supposed to do?
I just noticed a f***ing bug in the new sequence start/loop locator system. To be fixed asap!
Also, if I move the start marker while the loop is playing, then the volume of the loop starts increasing with each loop iteration and I have to stop it.
I think that could be caused by looping notes that get on top of each other.

If a note length is longer than the loop length, then you keep on stacking the note on top of itself.

Could it have been that?
3. I confess that the whole "focused part follows player" set of checkboxes I found rather confusing. If you want something like "the drop-box is the template for the currently selected object" the it makes sense to me that the current MIDI in should have its own "object" and when you select that, then you can use the choice box to select the player for it. It could be below the tracks somewhere. (was that how Muzys did it?)
Let's keep it simple: The Player Panel indicates and defines the Player for the selected part.

That's it.

Let's forget about the check-boxes for now.

Does that make it work for you?
2. Some color differentiation between rows in the note editor; one scheme that looks really nice to me is to have each black note's row be a slightly darker shade.
Nice suggestion!
Right now I'm trying to boot up Luna and it's hanging on the splashs screen...I don't know why...
:?: :o :(

Indeed, clicking the locator flag drags the locator, it doesn't set the play position.

Any suggestion?

Someone else who noticed this?

Are your LUNA window position/sizes remembered on next run?

So, in essence, it's showing the current destination for any events (either those on the selected Part or those from MIDI In), right? That's clear and simple. Not a problem here.

Presumably, if you have no parts, it's not a problem to set the Player Panel value to some player... If you then draw a new part, I'd expect it to get that player. (I've not sorted out my plugins or I'd try it out!!)

Yes, that's it. Clear and simple indeed :)

The new part indeed does get that player.

DiGiT, are your other LUNA settings remembered, like

-> which skin you chose
-> the last browse folders for session, audio file, vst file etc...
-> the width of the columns in the list editor

You don't get the License Agreement each time you run LUNA, do you?

Okay, I did a clean install and chose to only scan for rgc:audio plugins. I then added Kjaerhus. So I'm running with just sfz, sfz+ and the free Kjaerhus plugs.

I loaded up sfz and Kj's master limiter, removed the unnecessary mixer strips and saved the session.
Link to session file.

I then exited Luna, saying "yes" to save. I got an application failure.
Link to DrWatson log. (clear your cache ;))

I'll try again with B6...

Bug:
I had four tracks of midi, then I recorded an audio track on my electric guitar.
Luna made a new audio track below the four midi tracks, as expected.
But the scroll bars were unaware of the newly created track. Zooming out then in resets the scroll bar behaviour.
I tried a few more tracks and I noticed the same bahaviour.

Summary:
When a new track is auto-created, the scroll bars do not reflect the new number of tracks in the composition.

Bug, possibly the same as above:
The vertical scroll bars do not behave correctly when there's more tracks than fit on the screen.

Dragging the scroll bar down does not position the view such that the last track is completely visible. I resized the window, all tracks were visible, then moved the scroll bar and found that the bottom track was again not completely visible.

Summary:
Vertical scroll bar does not display the entire bottom track when the track-count increases.

Something missing...?
I recorded an electric guitar track. It sounded OK in the mixer monitor but was very distorted when I played back the recorded audio file. (Bad distorion, not intentional!)

There doesn't seem to be an audio level meter which tells you when you overload the audio input, unless I've missed something.

This makes getting the levels difficult.

Just to check, I loaded the Terratec control panel and it showed a large overload. Using the Terratec meter as a guide, I backed off the gain on the mixer to get a sensible level and the new audio recording sounded OK.

A level meter with peak and clip-warning would be nice.

Cheers,
Paul.

:?: :o :([/quote]

I think it had something to do with my crappy SoundBlaster Live drivers. I had to reboot (maybe more than once) and then I got one of those "recovered from a serious error" messages from windows. Probably not Luna's fault.
Thanks!

Allright, thanks for all your feedback.

Will continue working on it, soon.

Have a great saturday night

It wasn't working but on inspection I had a deeper problem, it was my Mobius installation or a corruption. I have uninstalled and am actually probably out for a while while I redo my VST folder as a whole.

Post

Reinstalled Mobius, did a better job, installed Luna beta 6, they now work nice together. Thanks for all! Newbie Brad
