No, of course it would be #2. Keep in mind those handful of people in warehouses around the world ALSO have to ship oh... I don't even know how many thousands that have been ordered by STORES and DISTRIBUTORS that ALSO have been waiting too! When a product is launched and in high demand sometimes there is a wait.SJ_Digriz wrote:
#2 Or maybe it takes time for a handful of people to wade through thousands of orders, match them against an upgrade list, package them up and ship them out.
Anyone who thinks there is no effort involved with setting up a targeted e-mail with an associated download with all of the associated overhead is an idiot. Don't be insulted unless the shoe fits.
I don't have my e-mail yet either.......so it is obviously #1.
But, anyway, AT1 users who qualify at least have their AT1, have a download of AT2 at the beginning of next week if they either have a key (many do) or take the opportunity to pick one up. If you are having trouble find a key then you can contact IK and they'll help you find one in your area (like the email says). Or, you can just buy it from www.esoundz.com and we have them. If you want to get it as cheap as possible then ask Elijah for a deal. If you are already an esoundz customer then it is a no brainer. If you aren't then join up (it's free to join it anyway) and tell Elijah you might be a future customer or something. Give him hope!
Of course, esoundz is really just carrying the key for convenience and not to make a killing in profit on it (better to sell you the actual software... and if you bought a key we would even let you credit toward ANOTHER piece of software on esoundz potentially as well just to let you know where we're at on that one). That said, I've tried to point to a few places where the key can be even cheaper (certainly below our cost). For example I 'heard' anyway that Korg was selling the key for $9 from their website. But, I only heard it at the show. Didn't confirm if and where myself. I guess if it was true someone would have found it already? Either that or maybe they were stormed and then took it down!

How does A2 do with sounds like this? I listened to the demos on the site but they were slim on the palm muting and such.

Glad you arrived safe. That thunder was serious! I almost sampled it with my Microtrack. I did sample some wicked WEIRD Germany sounds though from the hotel. One sounded like the machines in War of the Worlds (some kind of construction). The other was some eerie birds going nuts in the morning. That Microtrack is pretty cool apart from the handling noise. I am going to capture some interesting ambiences while I am in Europe for the next week (going to London, Sweden, Italy and then back to Germany then to the good ol US... Squidstravelin'! Gonna maybe visit my bros at the Props and visit the studio of one of my favorite bands in the UK then pop over to IK HQ and talk about this other thing that we didn't announce.

a shame we didn't have the chance to say goodbye though... SKoT and I were trying to pay you a short visit today but you couldn't be found...
anyway... I wish you a sooper europe travelling time
take care

Yes of course, I was actually joking about #1. I understand about distribution issues more than you could imagine. ie...25,000 pakcages ready to go in the boxes but the supplier didn't have any packing tape for the machines...... 1k lbs of shrink wrap for the wrong machine...... 2'x4'x2" boxes for 2'x3'x4" items (we ordered the right ones, received the wrong ones) ...... etc etc etcSquids wrote: No, of course it would be #2.......

your link doesn't work but from what I heared during my samjs (squids and mully jam session) it handles mutes just fine...Shane Sanders wrote:How does A2 do with sounds like this? I listened to the demos on the site but they were slim on the palm muting and such.

I still have to hear it on my home system (and without all the background noise) but the Genelecs they had were quite big and loud so I got a nice impression of it.... yup sounded GOOD

I get a private demo of AT2 today, and I have been asked not to discuss the details of it, but let me tell you, I am really impressed. The warmth and saturation are amazing, the best I heard so far in an amp simulator.
Now, the only thing left is deciding wether I buy AT2 now, or wait for the StompIO and buy the whole StompIO package later ( including the software that comes with it ).

Is there a list ofthe presets that come programmed with AT2?
If not a complete list, how many presets are there? Any tones that try to match classic recordings?
Thanks!

The product is now shipping and some people have already received their copy, so what's so secret about it??? I don't get it...A3ntar wrote:I get a private demo of AT2 today, and I have been asked not to discuss the details of it, but let me tell you, I am really impressed. Anyway, that's one more positive feedback, and it seems people who heard it like it better than GR2. Good news!
Do you know when the StompIO will be released? I guess it won't be till a couple of months, since IK makes it (hey, you could start another thread!). Can you wait even more? Beside, the price of the StompIO should be lower if you already own AT2, so that $ StompIO (including AT2) = $ AT2 now + reduced price of StompIO. Otherwise no AT2 owner would buy it and everybody would complain...

Just curious as to how this plug-in compares to a hardware solution such as the Line6 PodXT or Vox Tonelab, they are all similar in price.
