One thing I found was when I called up an old file created in Acid Pro 4 I couldn't use the pencil tool to draw out more samples from existing sample lanes. I just drew out a blank rectangle where there should have been the wave file. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I think someone asked this earlier...is there anyway to get a full screen view of midi data? Or at least the old floating view/window as was possible in ACID 5?
The only option I can see/access in V.6 is the track level midi editing.
Anyone?

It doesn't use mysql, it uses MSDE (microsoft (sql server) desktop engine, it looks like they are using the 2000 version).Reverse Engineer wrote:And if you don't use it, it's just as simple to uninstall. If anyone does want rid of it, remove the mysql part first then the media manager...voila, no more need to bitch like a girly![]()

It is best to have the Track Buffering enabled (which it is by default), especially if you have dual core/multi cpu setups. If you have a high performance DAW, you should see better performance gains (higher track counts, better CPU use etc...)with it enabled than disabled. But, if you are having problems with glitches/pops, then you can always disable the Track Buffering.Rajah wrote: Worked like a Charm ... Thanks.

Sorry, I'm still not getting it. I know how to send from a track, but not from a bus in the mixer. In the tracks, you use the multipurpose slider to send. The blue box with options is the main output. These features have been there since at least Pro 5. How can I send from a bus like you do in a track?steffensen wrote:after uve added a bus or assignable efx bus, in yer mixer, a little blue box will turn up on yer tracks. click it, and it will give u options.sgx wrote:I can't figure out how to have a bus in the mixer send to an aux effect bus - say I want to have a vsti synth send to an aux bus with a reverb on it....how does one do that?
same goes for routing the buses in the mixer.
also, make the tracks view larger horizontally, and ull see a FX fader, where u can choose wich bus to send the track to.
finally acid have send.
I think this is because there can be multiple clips per track now and it doesn't know which one you want. There's a little loop icon in the track that lets you choose which clip from the track's clip pool to use.One thing I found was when I called up an old file created in Acid Pro 4 I couldn't use the pencil tool to draw out more samples from existing sample lanes. The effects support still seems pretty bad - you cant route a midi track to an effect for an example, and stuff like supatrigga won't work. It does seem to at least remember patch names now.

Go to Sony's ACID Forum and there's a thread with a link in it here.CypherOne wrote:Given that Sony haven't yet emailed the upgrade link from Pro 5 then is there any other way to get the decent price (esp. given I'm in the UK)??
I paid $173 (£99 - inclusive of VAT) for the downloadable upgrade and the shipping of the content to the UK. Not as cheap as US retail prices but cheap enough IMO. I tried Soundcontrol, Turnkey and Sony Media Shop in central London and none of them have it in stock.
If you want to wait for a better UK deal remember that the demo is fully functional for 30 days so there's no hurry to buy it.

You can route a synth to a buss so any number of synths can use the same buss effect.sgx wrote:Damn. What are you supposed to do? Put a reverb on every soft synth you have in there? That's a huge oversight. I thought for sure they would improve upon that from Acid 5

Sonar has the same problem. There is probably a workaround for this. I haven't investigated ACID 6 thoroughly so perhaps there is a way to use a midi track to trigger an effect.samcruise wrote:The effects support still seems pretty bad - you cant route a midi track to an effect for an example, and stuff like supatrigga won't work.
