woowmunchkin wrote:I've found ACID 6 is causing no problems on my PC. The new features seem to work without a hitch and my ACID 5 projects load fine. The midi implimentation is very intuitive IMO. Multiple clips on one track are very useful. Synth automation seems to work ok. The gui is easy to work with and retains the ACID feel.
Media manager is easy to switch off but is very useful for cataloging files if you need that option.
If you use ACID a lot then v6 is a fantastic upgrade. I don't need to use Sonar at all now. Those who are thinking of switching can use the fully functioning demo for 30 days. Not a dongle in sight!
being al old ACID fan
this is exaclty what i wonted to ear!
can't wait to upgrade and work with it!

Is Acid 6 still laptop friendly? I'm running Acid 3 on an older laptop with 384 meg of memory. It works just fine. The addition of MIDI would be nice but I don't want to upgrade if my computer does not run it. Also, I don't want to install the demo in fear of messing up Acid 3.
All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

I got it to work after the typical "Acid PRo VST folder crash" by installing this http://zacchino.free.fr/DummyPluginFolder.reg AFTER I installed AP6, Be sure and copy paste this file to c:\ then run install.... It worked for me!

Rabid...have it running great on my Laptop P4 1700 512 Ram in as much as I need to get out of AP6 anyway.
It does ask that DX 9c has to be installed and you'll need the .net installers for the media stuff if you don't already but it shouldn't interfere with V3.Everything was installed in a seperate folder to my V5 which was rapidly removed once I saw how cool AP6 is for versatility and general stability.Have had no real problems except for the initial plug scan.
All I can say is V6 is excellent and a good foundation for the future....so much more stuff can be done now but only if you need to.I can get even more insanity out of it now.
Great and comprehensive upgrade IMHO.

One question: Why does the Sony Media Manager v2.1 get installed with it? I don't have a Sony Portable... :S

Does anyone know if there's a way to disable the installation of the Media Manager?? That piece of crap resisted uninstallation in v5 and I don't trust it... or should I??
Thanks!
Thanks!

Nice. Also, for those with paranoia about such net-sourced items, maybe Reverse Engineer might be persuaded to re-run his one-stop easy-as-pie 'regedit' trick that does the same?riley4reason wrote:I got it to work after the typical "Acid PRo VST folder crash" by installing this http://zacchino.free.fr/DummyPluginFolder.reg AFTER I installed AP6, Be sure and copy paste this file to c:\ then run install.... What's so great about it? From the screenies it looks pretty typical, like all the rest.G-Ro124 wrote:THIS MIDI EDITING IS f**king AMAZING

If you need to freeze...Ctrl+M renders all unmuted tracks in the region to a new audio track. If you want you can even render a bus, which is exellent.

Because they make a big deal about being able to "tag" all the loop files. Having played with it some this morning (I'm upgrading from 4.0), the only problem I have is that I seem to have too many loops for RAM.rbet wrote:One question: Why does the Sony Media Manager v2.1 get installed with it?
