You plug a monitor into the Receptor, and control the GUI using the receptor remote control software? Does it instantly reflect changes made using the remote?

Sorry if this is a foolish question...the reason I ask is because rather than tie up one of my monitors with the receptor remote, I was hoping to add a monitor to the receptor...that way you can always see the mixer window and levels, etc, even after it has been minimized on my computer's monitor. Does this work?

Haven't done it with my Receptor, but I control a PC with VNC this way at home and works fine.
The remote VNC client just mirrors what is going to the PC's monitor output.

I bought a dedicated monitor for my Receptor. It sits on top of my rack. I do all of my work from there with a trackball. It works great, The only time I use the remote is to download software, and rename patches, etc.

Sounds like a plan, then. Thanks for the input guys.

You can definitely plug a monitor directly into Receptor and still use the VNC remote. I even have a keyboard and mouse plugged into Receptor, so I can control it either directly or via VNC. Sometimes I even have one mouse in each hand and chase myself around the screen...

Very, very cool. I was wondering about the keyboard and mouse, as well.

The VNC remote is nice because it continues to operate the Receptor mixer interface even if you've used the local keyboard/mouse/monitor (attached to the Receptor) to switch to the command line.
