BTW AT2 is not working at all for me in FL Studio 6.08

Post

The great thing is, because its a plugin we can just take old tracks and load AT into it and voila, a full track with AT2. I know this is obvious, I just think it rocks ;)

Me to, I didn't expect to from looking at the pictures on the IK Site, But it's really enjoyable to use, I think IK have done themselves proud with this, I was just experimenting with going into AT2 via a Hughes and Kettler Tube Factor, then through a TLA Valve DI into my MIO, Man that sounds good, a pleasure to play, Warm and silky smooth, and yet it still sounds powerful and upfront with clarity, using either Single coil pickup or Humbucker, it still sounds right, it doesn't lose the sound of the pickup, great stuff :)

I just want you know that I hate all of you and will continue to do so until my AT2 arrives on Monday. :x

Carry on! :)

Thanks for helping out Andrew.

Out of curiousity, has anyone tried/have Waves GTR 2? How does it stack up? I didn't like the first version of GTR, but I haven't heard anything about the latest release sound wise.

I may be wrong but I think the only difference between GTR 1 and 2 is 3 new amps and some other little stuff like being compatible with Sonar and all. The rest, I think, it's the same.

anon wrote:I think you will change your opinion once you have used it a while, I am getting fantastic sounds in the mix, and you know I wasn't expecting to, I am very surprised, I have a podxt, a Boss GT8 and GR2 to compare it with, It sounds great I can assure you, The presets may not be what you are after, presets seldom are (altho I even find the presets to be pleasing) but with a bit of tweaking to your taste and it's really got it going, Man I am very impressed, It covers a lot of ground very well, and the tone is nice, warm and musical, I'm not saying it's perfect, But it is the next level of software guitar modelers no doubt, GR2 has some stuff that AT2 doesn't, and I am sure I will use GR2 for certain modulation stuff, But for purely amp modeling, the sound or tone is harsher, more digital, I don't know how to word it, less musical and pleasant to the ears I guess, GR2 is still impressive in it's own way tho, and I am sure NI will respond, But for now, AT2 is the one to be beat, IMO anyway, I can see me using it on most of my guitar tracks from now on, If not all, it is that good, I never thought I would hear myself saying that, I am also very pleased with stability, I am running Logic Pro7.2 on Tiger 10.4.5, and its been solid and reliable, even when pushing to the limit, I have a G5 2Ghz Dual and there are a couple of presets that push it hard, but most of the time the CPU is very reasonable, Those with G4's may find the CPU a bit high, and not be able to run certain effects such as Pitch shifters, but you will have no trouble with with most of the presets, so don't worry.
this may well be the longest phrase i ever read in this forum. you almost beat Proust!

Btw, the compressor stomp boxes in AT2 are really good - much better than GR2, IMHO. The tube compressor is nice, too, but it really does not sound or act like any tube compressor/limiters I've owned or used. Still, that, too, is better than its equivalent in GR2...

Chalk one up for AT2 :)

Oh, and the Vox is very strong....one could go on... ;)

Finally got at2 recognized in cubase sx3 but..... it is crashing constantly.....  :x :x :x :x :?: :?: :?:

Make sure you are updated to the latest version of both Cubase SX3 and AmpliTube 2.0.1 Then if you still have problems of course contact IK tech support. I have it running in SX3 like a dream on my Sony laptop so it must be something to do with your system.

By the way, I agree on some of the comparisons. The compressors are awesome in AT2. Also the Echo Man, the CE-1... some really good models! I do agree that NI's Leslie simulator which I assume is from the B4 is better than the IK one (which is I think the same one in ST2). But, I think that it could even be modeled better than I've ever heard in software compared to the real thing. I am curious to see if perhaps it can be modeled even closer to the real thing by someone. I used to have a Leslie 122 and a 147. I am even thinking about buying my old 147 back and shipping it to Florida. I probably will anyway but a REALLY good Leslie simulator would be sweet. The B4 one though is decent.

I really love the B4 leslie... but have no need for the B4 it would be cool to be able to buy it seperately

Anyone getting a crash in Pro Tools 7.1 cs6 on PC? I have the latestst AT2 installed too (2.0.1). Whenever I change to the dual rectifier, I get a fatal exception and then a crash.

Ho hum. :(
