possible network (VNC) config?

I tried this setup last night and could not successfully get it going so I thought I would ask here if its theoretically possible.
Having control of my receptor from the remote software is fantastic for when I'm in the live room of the studio so I thought I would try some VNC software to control a PC as well as the receptor at the same time.
My G5 is the main computer which has a 4 port switch connected to it. The first two ports are taken by a digi Dcommand, the third by the receptor and the fourth I plugged the PC into. I also have 'airport' as well.
I could successfully control the receptor with its own RC software and could control my powerbook over airport at the same time, but I could not get the receptor and the PC to coexist at the same time. The receptor control always worked but it would stop the PC from being controlled. (I'm using chicken over VNC).
Does anyone know if this should be possible?
What would be fantastic is if the Receptor RC would let you control a PC as well.
