Squids,

Now that the aquistion of Amplitube 2 is a thing of the past, I was wondering when a pre-order for Ampeg® SVX would be available on the Esoundz website? :D

I really hope IK considers both download versions aswell as boxed for Ampeg SVX. No need for box & key would be cheaper for both IK and customer :?:

Already have three spare iKeys, dont need another one 8)

Actually, I think there will be an Ampeg SVX crossgrade from AmpliTube 2 which would not have the key (since you'd have it) but also gives you a nice discount too!

As far as pre-orders go... that could be in a week or so. I think Ampeg SVX should be ready soon. Maybe even shipping next month! Not official news or anything as usual but... it's looking good.

It took a while (a lot more than expected) for the whole new AmpliTube 2 framework and everything to be completed. There's actually a few updates coming for AT2 that are pretty cool as well although IK didn't announce it because it might as well be a surprise. ;) Not everything needs to be announced in advance. Especially if people are just going to be frustrated waiting. Still, though, this is the most IK products that I've seen come out within such a short time of each other. CSR, AT2, Ampeg SVX. There's a lot of great plug-ins to get. Hope you saved up!

IK's Ampeg site shows two options. One full product and one crossgrade for all Amplitube's, and going from AT Live, AT1, AT LE etc, you'll need the key.

I would love if they also made a special crossgrade for AT2 owners already having the key, and only as a download at very special price..... :D 8)

No hassle with shipping/customs , waiting etc....

Oh. So maybe it will come with the key then if it is a crossgrade from any AT version (although I bet that's only a limited time offer and the extended offer- if there is one- will be only for AT2 users... just a guess).

Anyway, IK won't make 50 different versions with and without a key etc. However, on www.esoundz.com we can figure out a way to give you a discount based on not needing another key. Not a problem. You'd have to contact sales@esoundz.com and ask when it is available or on pre-order.

After my go round with trying to put AT2 on my Miroslav Ikey, I went and bought a 7 port usb hub, so I got room for Ampeg SVX's Ikey.

One more quick question. The Modeling for SVX is done from Ampeg's current line of available Bass Amps, correct? I was hoping for some bass amp modeling from some of their truly vintage bass gear.

It's funny I am not that picky about AT2, but since I am a Bass player, I will probably pay closer attention to SVX's performance.

I do understand that Ampeg has recently reissued the 70's Silverface SVT. It would be nice if that amp could be modeled for SVX.

What problems did you encounter transfering the license between dongles? I've moved all mine over to one, never encountered any problems.

These are the amps in Ampeg SVX:
IK's web wrote: Ampeg SVX contains accurate models of the most sought-after bass amps and cabinets ever made including the SVT Classic, B15W Portaflex "Flip Top", BA500 and SVT4 PRO, in an easy to use, great sounding plug-in for any platform. 6 bass cabinets are also included (the B15W, BA500, BXT410H, SVT410H, SVT810H, PB212H) with ultra accurate modeling including high frequency horn attenuator, and 6 different microphone models including dedicated bass microphones. In addition, with cabinet mix and match amp heads, up to 24 bass amp combinations can be obtained covering the broadest spectrum of bass sounds you will find anywhere.

IN all seriousness i thought the bass sounds in Amplitube 1 were better than the guitar sounds. I havent tried AT2. Hopefully they don't mess this up, becasue in my opinion, a good bass sim would be WAY more appealing than a good guitar sim. BEcasue to this day no one can completely agree that a guitar amp sim "sounds" like a real amp. (I know its been covered 2 trillion times, but its actually my point) A good bass amp I think would be welcomed a lot better. SInce most bass recordings nowadays are usually a mix of direct and mic techniques.. Its not too far of a stretch to go all direct and use a plug for a great sound.

I have used the Bass Thick 1 preset from AT2 on 2 different basses. The preset really made both my 1983 Ibanez Road Star 888 and a 1966 Fender Jazz stand out on two tracks. It has a nice solid low end with some grind on top. And I didnt even fiddle with AT2's eq section. The preset sounded great out of the box.

I got a good feeling about Ampeg SVX.

That's the MSRP. By the time we take off for the Crossgrade, and eSoundz discounts, it will be as affordable as the other products, I hope.

FIrst off.... if this piece of soft ware is taking this long to become stable enough
for a proper release, It MUST BE a JOKE.
Please, with all the great stuff Line-6 and even guitar rig has thrown down, no bass
software is gonna be compatible enough, to match, what can already be done with the
above mentiooned softies!!

If they say it can, itz a bunch of shit.

The classic SVT was modeled. You also have a nice 8X10 cabinet too! ;) No silver interface though. Maybe that will come in an update. There's also probably some subtle differences between models and other things from Ampeg that could be added in future updates as well.

Not really. An Ampeg B15 alone is $3,000 or so. IK and Ampeg had both the software and a hardware B15 A/Bed right next to each other at NAMM and people could not even tell the difference.

Anyway, that's just the list price. The street price is much less and the crossgrade price for people who own any version of AmpliTube is even less than that (closer to half that price). It's a professional piece and actually it is the only complete bass amp plug-in at all so it is hard to even compare it to anything else really. You even get a complete set of Ampeg stomps too.

I agree with you that everyone can use some good bass amp plug-ins so they no longer have to accept only direct bass tracks (because usually only bass players own hardware amp rigs, not necessarily studio owners).
