@playmusic

that's an amazing job you've done there ... what's the process?

thanks for these. :)i was just thinking of sampling my penny whistle.
i was wondering how,or if it's possible to play these kind of samples legato,so that the second note would resume after the initial attack/blow?
can you do it with soundfonts? or can only some samplers do it?
i was hoping it was possible in sf2 so a vsti could be done. any samplist experts know the best way?

hmmm ... i don't know anything about making soundfonts , it would be cool to have a VSTi penny whistle tho'... there are some melodica samples on my www that would also make a cool VST if anyone's up for it :)

I was thinking of throwing something together in SE maybe I'll get on that sooner now. Also I was try to put together a SoundFont but was having trouble finding a good loop point for sustains.

tbh i will probably use my own flutes/whistles,just cos it's more personel.i think it will be good for my little boy to have virtual versions of instruments that we have in the house.but i surely would send you anything i make with your's.maybe once i do the first one it will be a lot easier to do more. :)

I love using tin whistles in songs.

They carry well in the mix, and sound so much better than a cultured flute ... and make a great alternative to Andean-type pipes (although these can sound really good too) ... or soft sounding bamboo jobbies.

The only problem with whistles is that once you start you don't stop :-o

D whistles, C and G and F whistles, low whistles ... and Overtons.

It's quite sad really :lol: :wink:

looking forward to the virtual melodica ... it would be cool if it had it's own delay .. i've been playing mine thru arcDevs Echotank XL (awesome) ...
i wouldn't worry too much about sustains, as it's not really part of the melodica sound... the notes tend to just drift off at the end ... at least they do when i play it :hihi:
