AraldFX, the new on-line consortium of developers and sound designer,
releases Grand Electrix VSTi.
The perfect emulation of the famous CP70 electroacoustic piano.
"Grand Electrix" is a sample based virtual instrument featuring a new stream from disk custom technology ("direct from disk") - the powerful DashSignature Arald piano engine - for very low memory and CPU usage. Samples are streamed in real time from the hard disk, reducing the need for huge amounts of RAM in sample playback.
The samples are derived from the acclaimed Hollow Sun library "Definitive CP70", which features every note, recorded with full decay over two levels of dynamics, of the classic CP70B piano.
The Arald piano engine features direct from disk streaming of samples with adjustable buffer size for maximum performance on any system. Disk streaming may also be disabled for PC's with huge amounts of RAM.
Features:
- 180 MB multisampled content with full decay, crossfading layers, and no loops
- Stream from disk custom technology for very low memory and CPU usage
- Complete control over velocity response, curve, min/max, and sensitivity
- Temperament Menu (microtuning)
- Stretch tuning adjustable for customizable "expression color" across the keyboard
- 3 Band EQ
- Tremolo Rate and Depth
- Chrous Rate and Depth
Released initially as VST for Windows; OS X AU and VST versions will follow.
introductory price 46 USD, offer valid until the end of July 2006,
full price 79 USD (orders processed by DASH Signature)

Sounds really good Liqih. Any screenshots?
Is the 'new' disk streaming going to find it's way into EVE in the future??

Sounds good to me too!
But personally I would definitely welcome an introductory offer like you have suggested
and to add to the requests for any screenshots - any audio demos?

Any news, liqih?
I'm each day more curious: what about the samples? Are they clean ones or effected ones? Can the module work with a sustain pedal? Will be audio demos soon??

but I edited them some more to fix few unwanted detuning,
sustain pedal of course,
beta started today,
GUI should look like this, this is just a mock-up with the used parameters

About the GUI: I'll give you some humble suggestions to make it more stylish :
1.I would cut off the keyboard drawing;
2.I'd group the velocity curve display and the function buttons\scale\tuning buttons below the main control panel ;
3.I would suggest a "unified" GUI style for the non CP-70 controls: for example I would give the non CP-70 sliders the same look of the "release" slider, turn all to black\silver and give to the surrounds of the controls a more "tolexey" look.
What do you think liqih?

Hi Max,
thanks for your feedback, we care for that,
some of your ideas may get on the GUI
and yes only clean samples, the idea is to have a virtual CP70 to use as the real thing

yeah, that's right, but Hollow Sun also licensed the samplessirbellog wrote:seems interesting....
will there be a special price for owners of the hollowsun CP70 library ?
I'd hate to buy the same samples twice !
to Zero-G for Nostalgia on Kontak, and you wont get a special price from them, or?
anyway the ones we use have been edited and interleaved,
you don't have any WAV in Grand Electrix,
also we don't use the original tuning of the Hollow Sun set,
since you can tune the Grand Electrix like a real piano,
but we culd ask Steve for a list of his CP70 set customers,
maybe

group buy would be cool or even half price for first however many, I mean I am not going to lie, whatever makes it cheapest for me is the best of course imo.

Well,liqih wrote:[

as a matter of fact,
I happen to also own Nostalgia, but did not feel as if I bought the same samples : the cp70 in Nostalgia is a very cut-down version, and it is a very small part of this huge synth-encyclopedia library. In fact, I would have bought Nostalgia even without the cp70.
---
About your vsti, we'll see :
either it brings something really new to the table even for hollowsun cp70 owners, or there will be a pre-order/group buy offer which makes it incentive anyway... or else I still just can keep with the sample version !
Any release date, or at least demo songs so far ?
