Receptor and Adobe Audition. Will it work?

As the title suggests, plus could I plug my keyboard via MIDI into Receptor, use all the sounds and take the signal out as Audio into my Echo Layla 3G soundcard and into Audition as audio.
Audition can't record MIDI unless it's through ReWire. I just want to get loads of sounds through my Yamaha V50.

Certainly - any audio source, including Receptor, can be recorded via your card's audio input into Audition.
You won't be able to run the Audition application on Receptor, if that's what you're asking, as Receptor can't run any standard Windows applications, but recording Receptor's audio output into Audition is easy.

Thanks Richard for the reply. What I really want to know is this. I have a V50 keyboard from old and if I take a MIDI lead into Receptor, can I use Receptors MIDI sounds but then output them as AUDIO and THEN into my soundcard as Audio. i.e. will Receptor CONVERT the MIDI to AUDIO for me to input as audio, then into Audition. I'm using Reason into Audition through ReWire at the moment but the 2 apps don't really like each other. I was wondering would Receptor help in bridging the gaprlainhart wrote:Certainly - any audio source, including Receptor, can be recorded via your card's audio input into Audition.

First off, you won't be able to run Reason on the receptor, AFAIK.
The easiest way to think of the receptor is as a synth module. Obviously there is more to it than that, but as far as hooking it up....you hook it up the exact same way you would a Korg TR Rack or any other sound module...don't think of it as receptor "converting" midi to audio, because that is just plain confusing. You are actually using midi to -trigger- your VST plugins installed on the Receptor, which in turn produces audio at the Receptor outpust, that you can feed back to your soundcard, and route to Audition.

Thanks Matt. I read it doesn't work with Reason direct but could as a ReWire instument. I'm glad the signal(as you suggest) is an Audio output. That's probably why Reason can't work with Receptor as it can't record Audio. If from what i've read and the Rudess videos, I might not need Reason but i'd like to be sure before I part with $1,500.customdigi wrote:First off, you won't be able to run Reason on the receptor, AFAIK.

I'm an audio guy. I've never really warmed to MIDI as such, prefering to do everything manually and with sounds and wavs I can see. what DAW do you guys use with Receptor and how does it perform(Big Question)
