I have just received my Receptor and I am confused by the install instructions for Ivory. When it says:
STEP 2
On your computer, insert the Ivory DVD. Copy the following files from the DVD to the Receptor hard drive at:
<Receptor Hard Drive>\Samples\Synthogy\Ivory\Ivory Items\
Copy:
* All Bösendorfer files
* All German_D files
* All Studio_7FT files
* Synth 1
* Synth 2
....exactly what files does it mean? Every file from all ten DVD's? Thanks for any help. Frank

Frank,
I am in the middle of installing ivory as well. My assumption is that you would need all of the sample files so yes I would assume that means all of the sample files for each of the three pianos. I started with the dvd's and then it occrured to me that I already had those files on my G4 so I started trying to copy directly from my G4 to the Receptor hard disk in the Ivory file. Problem that I am having is that the receptor keeps losing the network connection and I can't get the files copied. This happened both on the DVD as well as with my already copied files on my G4. I would be interested to know if you have anything similar.
Thanks,

Brian,
I have not had any problems with the ethernet connection so far. I am just installing the files that have the piano and Synth names , nothing else. It is taking a very long time so I won't know if I needed other files as well for some time yet. It appears that the additional files are all 1k in size...those I am skipping. I thought about transferring my files from a Logic installation on another computer, but decided against it since that didn't work for me. I am sure it would have een much faster though.

You havent mounted the drive using samba. On your G4, from finder, "Go to" (top menu), Connect to server. Notice that u should have the text smb://"your receptor ip" in the IP field; where the ur receptor ip will be IP from the setupview of the receptor. Mounting this way should help u copy the files. Also make sure the windows networking is turned ON on the receptor setup view.

NOT SURE IF this is the right thread to ask but just finished installing Ivory and it sounds awful - something went wrong like the patchs didn't load or the sample layer aren't mapped right. Will try to reload the samples again tomorrow but was I supposed to do something else to load the patches - maybe the data for just the patches aren't there
also there are updates to ivory to 1.52 - how do you upgrade receptor?
Also there are a bunch of free patches for Ivory on their site. How can you get them loaded in Receptor?
