I'm getting caught in all sorts of unscientific imprecision these days.

I actualy mean "f**k, no", but yes, in that sentence I should have written probability. It's my second language. Gimme a break.

in all honesty it wouldn't change my feelings....it's not just midiworks, but I would never do business with a company that behaved in this manner...

The negative posts got old about 100 pages ago.

I think the offer was fine in the first place, and there's no rule saying "only a regular may enter." I also didn't see many offers, so either a lurker did it, a non-forumite did it and then created an account to justify it, or it's a fiction... either way, why on earth should it matter to anybody that has already dismissed Rene and/or the amp? If you don't care, then move along...

I completely disagree...okay so some of us should move on now that we have decided against it? That's just plain wrong, in order for KVR to maintain integrity it can only be as strong as the developers here. Had Rene released the product, was always forthcoming about things and acted like a reasonable businessman I would totally agree. But seeing how this is going on for nearly two years and we've seen a lot of ducking and weaving, I firmly believe every single person has the absolute right to comment in the manner they seem fit (though sometimes by the response they hurt themselves more). That way perhaps other developers might take note and not repeat this abomination.

I'm rather surprised you can't see this point, perhaps you are working with Rene and know more than us. Like I said earlier in the month, the very fact that you have so much confidence in it coming out I do believe it would. However my criticism has been my opinion, the last posts have been sarcastic, but they have also been constructive in nature. I'm sorry if you disagree, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who has decided against it. I further think as a businessman Rene needs to know that so he wont repeat the same mistake again.

Rene should of known what he was getting into ahead of time, and just because we're not going to be customers now we might be later. Read back a couple of pages, I clearly say he has to prove himself more to me now. But I don't lock doors shut and keep my options open. So not only do I think we have the right to comment (and true some have gotten out of hand...but he should of known that could happen, he's no stranger to KVR), I believe it's best to do so. You know if you leave the back door open once nothing will happen until someone finds it, then it's a steady stream.

Again I'm sorry if you disagree, but by the same token, you don't have to read the posts either.

FWIW, if I were in Renes position right now, unless this is going to be released within the next couple of weeks, I would state what's going on, where he is heading and simply ask a mod to lock this thread. He can start a new thread when it's ready...if he did it right and in this thread for all to see he could in fact repair a lot of damage. But that would also stop this thread from coming back all the time. He's walking a razor sharp edge right now, so sharp that he could fall either way, but staying where he is at in the middle is also cutting deep...

Well, I wrote a long post, but even though I know YOU know that we're friends, Hink, I wouldn't want other people to get the wrong idea.

Here's the shortened version, then:

1. If the negative comments are meant to teach a lesson, and that lesson is for Rene, I'm sure he got your (and others') points already. He'll either modify his future business practices or not. Your job here is done.

2. If your intention is to warn other people off, it's wasted energy. We are all intelligent enough to decide whether or not to purchase, when the product comes out. In the meantime, protecting us from a product that doesn't even exist is silly, unless the developer started pre-orders, at which time even *I* would strongly object.

3. YOU know that your last point is silly, hence (I suspect) the wink. But if you don't, I'd be happy to explain the illogic.

Part of the strange obsession seems to be trying to correct or teach Midiworks' actions. I don't really think it's in your sphere of responsibility to do so. Therefore, doing so is your CHOICE, and an odd choice it is!
