lets keep speculating
ok i'll get mi coat
I dunno... somehow it makes no sense to send envelopes meant to control a synth to any audio fx, or apply MIDI FX on an audio clip. I really think the possibility to add any type of data on any track=bus would only make things more confusing for me.But there is still much to gain in terms of work flow, consistency and simplicity.
Those are the main things XT2 will address, no?
Well you can only send MIDI to MIDI ports, and audio to audio I/O... can't you also do this inside the sequncer? Ok if I want to do some exotic routings I "take it outside" just to get the nice visual environment. After all, the main window allow to freely route any kind of data (MIDI or audio) to either a synth or an effect. no limitations. Why should the sequencer impose such limitation on the user.
Actually - no. Jorgen confirmed that there will be (many) different track types.Hovmod wrote:But this means your question should probably be put on hold until we see how it's really done in xt2, because things are obviously changing...spacefox wrote:** watches as the thread derails to XT2 talk and speculations **
Well that doesn't really answer my question but that sure is pretty.
No more screen shots, please!soma wrote:Personally I like the T2 way, but I won't throw a fuss about it.
Looking forward to Drum tracks... Can they Kill the FL step sequencer??
SCREEN SHOTS!
According to Jorgen old post these will be much like the step seq in MachineII only (I'm counting on memory, so hopefully I get it all right):soma wrote:Personally I like the T2 way, but I won't throw a fuss about it.

Of course switching to a whole different approach require some changes in the intraface. This is why I know this is not going to happen - it's a too drastic change.djsubject wrote:i see the advantges,
but then we need to clutter the sequencer mixer with all the options of all the different track types
I see what you mean but there are easy workarounds: modifer keys or keyboard shortcuts for instance. Not to mention you hardly need to insert a new audio clip.djsubject wrote: but double click to add clip will have to be droped & replaced with a different system
