Tight Jo! :tu:

-cfm implementation seems to work like a charm here!

-VST parameter mapping, nice one! beats the old system any time (where you had to record it first)
Doesn't seem to work with all plugs tho.

-All VST parameters now show n the editor is that new? Nice indeed, just lke the good old days of...

------------

Observartions/random musings on Luna in general:

I get hanging notes when i play many notes rapidly on my MIDI keyboard (admittedly pushing it a little hehehe :hihi: ).
No problems with piano roll notes though.

Saving a session is a bit of a risky affair when you're used to different key commands for 'save' and 'save as', best implement a 'save as' option via key command!

Audio looping would come in handy once a composition is longer than say 32 bars. Does creating multiple instances of an audio clip eat much RAM? If not it's probably not much of a problem, but t's still a little cumbersome, if not the end of the world
I guess I'm talking from an electronic music/techno perspective here where songs do tend to consist of very short loops. It's probably next to irrelevant to less repetitive stlyes.

I was a little confused by the subtle differences between copy/duplicate a sequence.
When editing the copy , the parent sequence changed also, whereas duplicate doesn't seem to do anything at all (?)
I used 'Choose sequence' , which works, but getting my head around it took a while.

All in all top job, I'm impressed with Luna!

Lookin' good!!!

A few minor comments: I think there should be some additional safeguards about saving your work when you quit; e.g., if you close, and it asks you to save, and somehow you enter an invalid filename, then it just closes anyway, and you lose your work.

Also, I wonder if it's possible to disambiguate multiple instances of a given synth, with different patches (e.g., String Theory -- Basic Pick vs String Theory -- Guitar) or something like that.

I like the new looping metaphor. I had to discover it with the right-click, but I think it's clean and makes sense.

Thanks!

I found a bit of a bug: I was trying to create a two-measure loop in the sequence editor, and I zoomed in so that the two measures filled up the editor, and then I couldn't zoom back out. So I couldn't get the loop end marker to become visible (it was offscreen to the right), so I couldn't make the loop any longer.

hmm.. NI battery 1.3.0.017 and Altered states VST (based on the Intakt Player) do not respond to midi notes.

(edit)

i think altered states had to do with the midi channel, sorry.

no loop icon in 'Loox Voidex' :!:

* Midi Controllers to VST Parameter mapping
The editor for controllers/parameters is sweet - I hadn't noticed it before. Set the part/player, pick the controller/parameter, draw in the automation, watch the knobs and sliders fly! Fun!

I'd rather have the mapping control on the Edit panel of the plugin itself, rather than on the player panel Options button. It wasn't that obvious to me..! :) And why does the mapping only apply to effects? (Edit: s/doesn't/does/)
Also, I wonder if it's possible to disambiguate multiple instances of a given synth, with different patches (e.g., String Theory -- Basic Pick vs String Theory -- Guitar) or something like that.
And/or let me name each VST instance...
what's "cfm" plugins??
Some weird Mac thing, I think...

Great, thanks for feeding back!

With which one(s) it doesn't work?

Yes :)

Will check it.

Normally Control+S (win) Command+S (mac) = the "save" function, not "save as", right?

Anyway, even with "Save" you get an "overwrite existing?" alert if the file already exists, so i don't think there is a safety issue.

"Audio Looping" (including match-to-tempo etc...) is a feature that certainly will come in a future version.

(Fyi: having multiple clips referencing the same audio does take a little bit more ram, not a lot though).

When editing the copy , the parent sequence changed also, whereas duplicate doesn't seem to do anything at all (?)
I used 'Choose sequence' , which works, but getting my head around it took a while.
By default, copying sequence parts is copying the parts itself, not the sequence. So a copied part plays the same sequence as the original part.

But you can make a real unique copy of the sequence via the "Duplicate" function.

Then the sequence is duplicated for that part. At first this doesn't make any audible difference as it's an exact copy of course.

But once you edit that unique copy, you'll notice that the original sequence doesn't change anymore, as it are 2 different sequences :)
All in all top job, I'm impressed with Luna!
Thanks!

Enjoy!

Hey Jo,

Wanna trade my Tracktion 1.6 license for Luna? Just kidding...

I must say you did a wonderfull job. This program is so easy to use, yet very powerfull.
The player per clip concept is really handy!

There's a bug when after recording some midi, and then splitting the clip : the clip doesn't send midi data to the plugin -> I have the session file : if you want I can PM it to you.

True, will be improved!

Mmm, where do you want to disambiguate the instances?

In the Player Panel? But there you see the different patches.
In the Parts? These can be renamed, so you can distinguish.

Maybe i'm overlooking something?

i wanna buy it! but i wanna use paypal. is it possible?

currently playing with it, first problem, my main audio output is not the first output of my driver so I cannot hear anything (and I m not able to select the output).
otherwise I m trying to learn a new logic, and it seems pretty interesting as I plan to have a computer audio workshop for teenagers in the school where I m working.
