Problems installing Atmosphere

I'm having all sorts of problems installing Spectrasonics Atmosphere...

-I got my Receptor used. The previous owner also had Atmosphere on it, and uninstalled it (no dat file now), but there are Atmosphere-related folders and files still on the machine. Most of these cannot be removed simply by deleting. Atmosphere does not show up in the "Uninstall Plug-Ins" menu in Receptor Remote.

-When I try to install the Atmosphere prep installer on Receptor, it fails.

-When I try to copy the Atmosphere dat file, it gets about halfway, and then shows a "disk full" error, even though there are 90-odd GB free on the Receptor disk. This happens both when trying to install the dat file from my Atmosphere CDs, and when I try to just copy the dat file from my computer's hard drive.

I've pulled the Atmosphere-related xml files out of the Spectrasonics folder in Unsupported Plug-Ins. No help.

How do I clean the Receptor up completely from the old install so I can start fresh? Any other tips and tricks? HELP! Thanks.

You are probably using a Mac and AppleTalk. The dat file is too big for this old version of AppleTalk. Use Samba instead and it will work. If you are using Mac OS 9, you need to borrow a PC or a Mac running OS X.

Thanks Dan!

Switched to Samba, and the dat file copied fine.

The plug-in prep installer is still failing. What files do I need to delete or what do I have to do to do a "fresh" install of the prep installer (getting rid of stuff from the previous Atmosphere install, cleaning up from the failed installations, etc)?

it appears that i am experiencing the same problem, downloaded and installed the atmosphere mr-package file, followed the installation tips (copying the dll), authorizing the atmosphere. the plugin was added to the list as "atmosphere stereo2stereo" but the vst couldn't be launched (first thought it was a ram issue but i have 1.2gb ram).

tried to remove the package via uninstall and didn't work, tried to remove the .xml and other cache files but still no success... when i try to re-install it, it says "package already installed" in the logfile.

any ideas?

[edit]: my system logs learns us that:

"../win32/LoadVst.cpp::LoadWindowsVst[131]: todo - translate win error 126, path '/c/Program Files/VST Plugins/Unsupported Plugins/Atmosphere/Atmosphere.dll"

and then some messages about "err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x7803a708 "?" wait timed out in thread 0009, blocked by 0012, retrying (60 sec)"

and
"HostPluginList.cpp:AddDescription[963]: Signing Failed"

I went through the rest of the forum, the message usually appears when a .dll is missing, but in my case; I am trying to install a plugin that lots of people got working...

Any help is welcome!

thanks,
F

Guys

Please submit a support ticket on plugorama about these issues. Yes the installer (mrpk) fails, when its already installed.
