If only Receptor did this....

I've been thinking lately about Receptor and I'm leaning towards the idea that it would make a pretty good studio in its own right. There's a thought in the back of my head that I wouldn't mind keeping a computer as a backup studio and just doing most of my work on Receptor.

Unfortunately, compatibility of software within Receptor is the major issue. If I could load up EnergyXT as a sequencer plug-in and it worked without compatibility issues that would be the first step to creating my mobile and reliable studio. I don't think that compatability is there yet though.

The next issue is that although there are a heap of plug-ins that are compatible - I'm only really interested in my key players. I don't really use alot of plug-ins these days, but of the ones I do use, some of these have compatibility issues: SonikSynth2, ST2, Miro Philharmonik...

These are key instruments for me and I don't even know if they're ever likely to be compatible within Receptor.

It looks like WusikStation will probably continue to enjoy some sort of unofficial compatibility with Receptor so that's probably not as much of an issue.

But I'd seriously consider buying Receptor if I could actually replace my studio computer with it. Is it likely to become an option for us?

What's the current situation with IK products (particularly those with iKey)?
There was talk of some success with EnergyXT working in Receptor some time ago - is there any update on that? Tim C, you might be able to confirm that for me...?

I've been lately wishing that I could just have a Receptor attached to a monitor, mouse and keyboard and connecting my midi equipment to it and just working and not worrying about what other content is on the thing that I don't need, that might cause performance issues, that might interfere with programs running. I don't have to worry about how many non-music related processes are running, or drivers for sound/video cards. I have full connectivity with music-related devices without having to worry about third party products etc. etc. etc. etc....
