Sony have a special upgrade discount running until the 31st of may...£69/$129.
but you bought acid pro 5 NOW, so it should have been a free upgrade as it had never been registered...weird..

That free upgrade from ACID Pro 5 expired May 3rd. There was a 60 day window to get the free upgrade and it centered around the "official" ACID Pro 6 release date,April 3rd, 2006. Anyone buying ACID Pro 5 (30) days prior or after the release date, (March 3rd-May 3rd) was eligible for a free upgrade. I believe you had to furnish a valid purchase receipt, from a retailer, and send in a request form, with your name & address, if you did not buy it, from Sony Media's online webshop.

My compliments to the Beta Testers. 8)

This has been the most solid release yet.

All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

Me too. Historically the c's seem to sit best with me. Same with FLStudio, it's 5.02c that i find to suit me most.

It's the only key I play comfortably on keyboards...

I though the keyboard went "c, less tuned c, even more detuned c etc" :P As for the black keys, i thought they were just a proponent of political correctness. :P

Does anyone know if ACID 6 has a CPU meter? According to this article ACID 5 does not.

http://emusician.com/mag/emusic_sony_me ... index.html

I suppose the Windows task manager will do.

I certainly cannot find any CPU meter in ACID 6. While it's not a deal breaker I am surprised Sony have left this out of V.6 or am I missing something?

host cpu meters usually suck.
check my profile for contact info.
msn messenger is my email as well.

I don't see the point of them to be honest. I know some people do, and fair enough, but i think this way - if i'm not hearing crackling or getting lag, then i'm ok, if i am, then i'm not...it's a crazy irresponsible way to do things, but that's me, i'm a crazy crazy guy. 8)

I guess it's no biggie as such but rather a...nice to have :hihi:.

I agree. It would be helpful, because ACID Pro 6, like its predecessors, tends to announce any capacity limits, internal struggles etc by simply locking up solid, requiring a hard re-boot...

awaiting a better, more stable 6.0b, ideally able to run Jamstix grrrrrrrrrr :x
