Thanks for your feedback muzycian!

My first impressions of Luna Free:

Things I like...

It's stable, at least no crashes so far!

The trackless approach is very interesting! In my opinion it's the most important concept in Luna, because it makes Luna stand out from other hosts. If Jo manage to get the workflow right here he got a big selling point! Semiquaver has already mentioned some possible improvments in an other thread.
muzycian wrote:
Besides Semiquaver's suggestions, are there any other workflow improvements you would suggest?
Not at the moment, I need some more time with Luna to get used to the whole concept!

The bar-numbers are a bit tiny, aren't they? Or is it just my resolution...

muzycian wrote:
What resolution are you working on?
I use a laptop with 1400 x 1050....but if noone else find them small it's probably my poor eyesight

midi-man:
When I select several notes I get a pop-up every time! A default choice would be convenient.

Note that you can press the first character of a choice as a shortcut!

Aha, didn't know that, but I still think a have a point here. Since I almost always go for the "Absolute" way I find the pop-up unnecessary most of the time. Besides, many of the choices begin with the same letter...

I think it would be better if changing the start of a part worked as changing the end. If I want to move the parts notes relative to the timeline I can always grab the center of the part instead. Tracktion got this right imo.

I see what you mean. But that's done with the start marker in the sequence editor. Mmm, don't want to create confusion. I have to think about this more...

Well, let's say you have a verse followed by chorus. If you want split your parts into a verse and chorus some of the notes will end up to the left of the cut even though actually belong to the chorus. I don't think it would cause any confusion if it was possible to finetune the point of the cut without the need to open the editor for every part.

and finally... some more suggestions:

a) If several parts are selected, the split-tool should split all of them.
b) If several parts are selected, muting should mute all of them.
c) mouse-wheel + Ctrl or Alt to change the vertical size of selected parts.
( leave the other modifier key for horizontal mouse-wheel zooming)

And why not spline automations ?

Yes, that sounds very ok.

Atoh, imagine you're working on a certain group of notes, but the play position is already further, then if you click the zoom in/out buttons, the editor window will suddenly jump to another position!

That could be very confusing, right?

michi_mak wrote:i think automating the mixer section is missing! playing midi notes when inserting was already mentioned!
Automating the mixdesk is very simple:

Just hit record and tweak the controls you want to automate.

Everything is recorded as a new, fully editable sequence ;)

Most of this coming sooner or later.
--Looping?
Do you mean loops that auto-match the tempo?

That's very high on the whishlist!
--Reorderable FX Chain?
Already there: shift+drag the mixer strip plug slots up or down :)
--Cpu meter?
Already there: top of the window, Transport Panel, below the tempo (depending on skin though)
--more detailed note information?

You mean like a floating window that constantly shows the selected note's properties?

That's planned.

Huh? Absolute, Relative, Procentual, Cancel (the latter also responds to Escape)

Good suggestions! Added to the whishlist.

Font sizes are an issue here, too... I'm not a fan of bitmapped fonts in general but I understand why they are there :?.

Where are the fots too small on your screen? Also the timebar? Other places?

I'll see whether that could become a parameter...

Yes, that's about it - I just checked the track names and they're fine now (they used to resize, didn't they?) The labelling (pre/post/out) on the mixing desk is /just/ okay.
