Hey fellow Tracktioneers!!

I won my first KVR monthly music contest using Tracktion. Here's my entry:

Composed in Tracktion2 without the benefit of a MIDI controller, as my PCR-80 crapped out on me:

Tidal (3.6MB, 96Kbps MP3)

About a little over 4 minutes of kind of spacey, trippy electronic instrumental music. Made with one instance ProtoplasmPro, one instance M42, one instance Ravity(s), two instances of Stealth, and a few choice Beta Monkey drump loops. :D

There are some KJaerhus classic effects in there, a GCO-1 for the drums, and a SpinAudio 3DDelays as a send. Final Mix thrown on the master outs for good measure! :-o

This seems to be the kind of thing I'm doing lately, and darker versions of the same. Blame cutting back on coffee.. :help: :lol:

More I'm sure as I get back into Tracktion2 again! :D :D

Hello You all,
3 french songs and a russian one are listenable at http://myspace.com/gousseff. They are all made with Traktion2 and free vstis. Nothing else. Guitars and voices are made by me, bass, drums and synth are porgrammed by me, cello on the last toast is played by my girl.
Please feel free to leave comments, as they may help me to convince a record maker.

Here's my first song in 7/4 - done entirely inside Tracktion (with plugins of course and my MIM Fat Strat and my cheap SX bass.

Hi....I dug yours woolyloach, v/trippy and mgoussou your link isn't working...and the one above is pretty cool too.....nice drum sound.

anyway, I'm getting better at tracktion....please have a listen to mynew one "Ten Shy" using T1 and my new X-station synth. The other tracks, "Basser" and "No Ticket" were produced by my friend and with T2, a virus and some other stuff. "The New Appeal" is completely created from one loop, no MIDI in T1 on a mac..

All 4 tunes on the above site were done in Tracktion. All are essentially rough drafts except for 'Toss and Turn' which I have put a fair amount of effort this afternoon into mixing and mastering.

I LOVE TRACKTION!

Sorry, had to get that out of my system. ; )

I'm starting to really learn the value of high/low pass filters for placing things nicely in the mix, rather than having all those super low's duking it out and the occasional ear-splitting high's ruining the pleasure of listening.

'Ballerina' is very rough and poorly mastered, but I like the chorus. 'How Sweet' is a bit more polished, but I recorded the vocal before I had a pop-filter and it really shows! Both need another verse or two of lyrics and better drums tracks.

"Basser" sets up a wonderful vibration between the headphones. Great work, very polished.

"Ten Shy" has a wonderful sound to it, polished and dreamy, but I could do without the drum loop for the first half. You might consider having it be strictly ambient up until the second major section, and then have the loop slam in a little more crisply and with lots of punch. Maybe some random bits of sampled weirdness here and there for color.

If you do use the loop in the beginning, you might want to 'disguise' it a bit with effecting and eq, then later have it appear in it's more raw form.

Your money was well spent on that XStation!

What did you use to mash your beat on the "New Appeal"? Nice work.

Hey thanks for the kind words skipkent.....I value your honesty towards our tracks and yeah the x-station has been a godsend for me. Its everything I needed in one package!!

I believe the beat at the end of The Appeal I assume, was mashed with a combination of CamelPhat and Flanger, chopped....then reassembled.


I'm diggin Noda City Wipeout.....he he he, I just bought a new tele on Monday too.....wish I was jammin with ya! :hihi:

Thanks so much for the encouragement and I'm sorry it's taken me so long to respond; I just haven't checked this thread in a while :oops:

It would have been interesting to hear your lyrics to the melody. This melody came to me whilst singing in the shower, beliece it or not. I had to tell my wife not to talk to me until I got a chance to get the idea down on my PDA's voice recorder. The whole piece evolved from that melodic idea.
