The case of the missing plugin

OK....M-Tron seems to have disappeared from my choice of plugs. I can still see it on the hard drive, I just can't select it. Am I losing my mind?
I can also no longer use any plugs that are in their trial period. I can choose them, but then I get a screen that tells me I'm in the demo period, and it won't let me choose "try it", and in fact crashes the machine.
Strange things are afoot.

OK....so I just downloaded the installer from plugorama. I'm not going to try to reinstall until someone who has done this, or someone from Muse chimes in. I can't choose MTRON to UNinstall first. I can see the plu, it's .dll and all the sounds in the GMedia folder, though....

Phil-
I am having a related issue. M-Tron is not installed on my receptor, yet there are a significant number of large files in the M-Tron directory (i think within the Samples dir) that I cannot delete from the receptor. Were you able to solve your issue?
Thx, AkNoT

Much different issue.
Mine was a dying hard drive, so that the OS couldn't "see" the plug.
What you need to do is email tech support and get a "permission fixer".

Hi Phil,

This might be vaguely related. Once, after flushing the cache (via holding 'setup' and triple-clicking 'power') I found that all of my "user-supported" plugs were not accessible - that is, I saw them on the plugins selection menu, but I could not select/load them.

Upon further investigation, I noticed something unusual in the "unsupported plugins" folder - all plugs had an associated "reset-PLUGINNAME.fxp" file. I found that deleting these fxp's and restarting Receptor seemed to fix the problem. The plugs were all accessible again.

Again, this may not be your problem directly, but perhaps someone else is seeing these symptoms.

Regards,
Kevin L
