I'm with jens on this one - not my cup of tea. It might be very good, but it's hard for me to judge.

I like this one. It sounds like Microtonic (as mentioned), which I already own, so I doubt I'd be inclined to buy it.
The direction of the Funk kits is the direction I'd like to see dk+ expansion packs taking, but I get the impression, liqih, that you're very fond of... different sounds.

... any way to trigger specific patterns using MIDI notes ???
(if not ... PLEASE make it so in a future version)

don't you think it would be very odd if it wasn't? I would restrict the functionality massively. But as I can't be arsed to use the internal sequencer I have to take a quick look at how to do it exactly.

Sorry if I'm missing the point, I have not read the whole discussion. One thing that can help is to tweak the velocities to adjust to one's playing or controller. For instance:jens wrote:Say you've got a five samples of a high-hat which has been hit in five different ways:
1. very soft
2. soft
3. medium
4. hard
5. very hard
Of course all these five samples have the same loudness after they have been properply recorded/edited (normalized, noise-reduced, whatever)
Now say they are velocity-mapped like this:
1. very soft 0 - 35
2. soft 36 - 55
3. medium 56 - 80
4. hard 81 - 110
5. very hard 110 - 127
1. very soft 0 - 55
2. soft 55 - 70 or 80
3. medium 70 or 80 - 90 or 100
4. hard 90 or 100 - 115 or 120
5. very hard 115 or 120 - 127
This is just an example as results will vary with the playing style and the sound and/or type of the samples.

Had to check the manual:

The channel 16 is reserved for sequencer control. The midi notes ranging from C1 (#36) to B2 select one of the 24 patterns of the DK+ internal sequencer.
If you are using DK+ in a live performance and would like to trigger the patterns via a MIDI keyboard, you may want that the pattern switch will only occur at the end the pattern. You can enable/disable the "Sequencer Live mode" in the Preferences dialog.

heh ... yeah ... went through the manual again myself and just found that ... not ENTIRELY obvious at first glance but it does work ... excellent ...jens wrote:Had to check the manual:The channel 16 is reserved for sequencer control. Yes.
My point was about the cymbals being unrealistically loud in almost any acoustic sample-set (and I thoroughly explained in a previous post to the one you quoted why this is so). In order to fix this you need to be able to lower the volume of only the cymbals. Triggering the cymbal-pads with a lower velocity won't help with pads that apply several samples by velocity-switching (and why this is so I explained thoroughly in the post you quoted).
I e.g. can't really use the NSkit7 as a soundfont with SFZ because I have no influence on the loudness of the cymbals but I can easily use it within DK+ because I have. That basically was my whole point.
