Personally I'm looking forward to an offline manual (like printing a pdf file) that I can read while sipping beer in the hammock. Will there be one, or only an online version?

The mate who's writing the online manual says it can probably be exported to PDF, or at least it can be boild down to a conventional html for download.pekadan wrote:Personally I'm looking forward to an offline manual (like printing a pdf file) that I can read while sipping beer in the hammock. Because... it doesn't expire. That's why it runs in demo mode.hellleutel wrote:when does the current preview version expire? didn't find an info
The old preview versions (before Jan 31st) expired because I hadn't finished the registration stuff. Now that the reg stuff is in, there's no need to expire anymore.

No, it was the polyphonic aftertouch bug that I have mentioned to you previously (and that you have assured me is already fixed, but awaiting release in the final version). PolyAT is very important to the way I play- I have a Kurz MIDIBoard, and use it constantly!Urs wrote:What do you mean exactly? I guess it must be the occasional zipper noise on some waveforms...? -marzzz wrote:My problem is that I have upgraded to a MacBook Pro, and now must wait for the final of Z2 so that I can really get back to using it. Unfortunately the Preview/Beta is missing an important bit of functionality for me.....

hellleutel wrote:hi everybody hi urs,
I'd like to step in and give my POV, and I'm sure I'm not alone. I like Zebra 1.x very very much and look forward to z2 even more, but will in the meantime certainly not use any previews or betas. I started doing so, but then... I need to keep my setup as stable as possible. Stable not so much in terms of bugs and crashes but concerning the needs for downloading, updating, registering, reading "what's new" texts and "what's to come" texts, worrying about time limitations and stuff. (BTW, no offense but I think that in the case of Zebra 2, the time span of announcements, teasers and anticipation has been longer menawhile than with any other software update I know of, hasn't it?)
Anyway, no problem at all, I've been working without Z2 for so many years now...![]()

Urs may have been better off calling the current Zebra2 preview, 2.0 and what he is working on now 2.1
I am using it regularly. It never crashes, has fewer bugs than many 'final' softwares and is easy to work with. I do not download anything, it is registered, and I just use it.
The current Zebra2 is not a preview in the usual sense of the word.
Just wanted to point that out cause it is not like the usual sort of preview thing where you are constantly updating, and in effect being a beta tester.

I use it and love it so much, I actually forget that it is a preview!!! Even after 10minutes or so when the random notes kick in, all I have to do is to save and reload my song. This is actually helpful for me because Logic 5 does not have a auto save feature!!!!! I do intend to buy the full version when it arrives however.
