Hi! I had a question, which may expose my lack of understanding of Windows sound drivers....but anyway...
I may have mentioned this in a previous post, but it seems like Luna somehow really ties up the audio resources, more so than other applications. E.g., if I'm running Luna, and I try to run Windows Media Player, then WMP will complain that it can't access the audio device. Conversely, if WMP is running and I start Luna, then Luna will refuse to play sounds, even when I quit WMP. I have to quit and restart Luna before it will play.
I guess my question is: why is Luna more monopolistic about the sound than other sound-card-using applications (e.g., Winamp and WMP can play together). Is it because I'm using ASIO4ALL and/or because I'm using ASIO drivers in general? Is it a "necessary" feature of how Luna works? I suppose it might be nice to be able to, say, preview samples in another app while running Luna, but is that just impossible at the present?
Thanks!
Q about Luna taking over the sound resources

I guess that's indeed up to ASIO4ALL and/or your actual soundcard's drivers. It's not LUNA.
1 thing is true: LUNA PR1 does take all inputs and outputs of the ASIO device. But in PR2 you can choose which ones to be opened=used.
But i don't think that affects this situation. Anyway, check it out in PR2.
Fyi: I'm working on PR2, but having some tough times, and there is much work to be done, that's why it takes a bit longer.
