Any plugins (other than Eleyvata Extra Boy Pro) that will allow me to extract vocals from my mastered tracks.. I need to do some remixing and need the vocals by themselves and dry.. I've tryed Adobe Audition's Center Channel but I get a lot of bleed over from hats,rides,cymbals... Also, I do not have access to the instrumental version so I cannot do that invert - sync trick... ANY SUGGESTIONS???

Let me know.. :hihi:

Not sure if this is relevant but it's not for 5.1...

The Extra Boy free wasn't doing it for you? That's the best one IMHO.

Another suggestion is our Widening Parametr'EQ ( http://software.bluecatonline.org/Produ ... arametrEQ/ EDIT: corrected the link) which allows you to perform Mid/Side equalization and thus remove or enhance any frequency you wish anywhere in the stereo field. If the vocal part is not at the exact center of the spectrum, it's not a problem, since you can choose the position of the "virtual center".
If you signal contains a lot of intruments, you way want to use several instances of the plug-in so that you have more frequency bands to play with.

Trying to understand how this works.. I looks like a normal ParaEq to me..

OOps sorry, the link is wrong, you are right it's the standard Parametric EQ...!

Here it is:

There's also Clone Ensemble's Voice Trap:

http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1950.html

Never used it though, so don't know how good it is.

There's also Steve Duda's noobz, which is an old-style signal inverter voice eliminator:

There's also this one, but I don't think it has been released yet:

Hmm the thing is.. when using a parametric, Am I not going to run into crossover problems.. Like say I boost certain frequencies, will these not impact the frequencies that my vocals are on then cancel out some of my vocal freqs?? Let me know..

Let me see if I really understand your need:
1. you have a miw with all instruments
2. you want to work separately on the vocals of the global mix, so you want to isolate the vocals from the initial sound.
3. Do you want to mix the modified vocal back with the original music?
Like say I boost certain frequencies, will these not impact the frequencies that my vocals are on then cancel out some of my vocal freqs?? Let me know..
Any method you are going to try won't be perfect, separating sources from an original mix is not an easy thing and can be perfect only when you have enough information about the sources, what you do not have... The advantage of using Mid / Side equalization is that you can choose the frequencies you remove/boost so that you can limit the spectrum as much as possible. But since the other instruments spectrum overlaps with your vocals, I am sure you will have some crossover, but less than with other simple methods (such as channels substraction etc.)

If you wish to remix with the original, maybe using our Linear phase widening EQ might help (you won't have phase issues), but it will be more difficult to extract your vocals since it does not offer as much precision as the parametric.
Anyway if you wish to do so your mix might suffer a lot whatever the method you choose...

Maybe give it a try and see what happens...
