I tried that and it was hard to get it looking realistic. I have to take some shortcuts because I do not use 3D rendering software, etc (yet). So though I could spend hours getting it to work and look somewhat realistic, it's not necessary IMO because what is currently used is very similar to the old version and thus it's automatically one of those things the existing users will feel ok about. You know?asseca wrote:Option: Remove the LED, and let the text light up when the pedal is on ...grymmjack wrote:@asseca; I will do that as a last resort. I think the pedals look ok, cramped a bit yeah but I'm fighting for real estate anyway. If I put the text on the pedal I loose flexability of keeping the LED indicator there in a nice clean way. I was going to make the word a big LED but it didn't pan out and is too time consuming to bother with it. I'd prefer to keep things as is for now and only as a worst case scenario/contingency further tweak the pedal steps.
I wish I had more time, but as it is this project is longgggggggg over due
I also tried icons for the foot pedals, and it just didn't look right. It looked like EgyptianAMP
@spuddle; thanks. Ya I know what you mean about the speaker I'll think about what to do there. I had considered drawing a full cabinet frame, but it looked stupid when I drafted it out. The line divider doesn't look that bad to me, but I know what you mean. Maybe I can put some lighting or something there to make the speaker look more separate or a smoother transition from amp control surface to speaker mesh.
I think after everything is done a more sound judgment can be made regarding the layout and diff pieces of the UI. For now, I'm going to continue with what I have got going on to save time and move closer to completion.
Thanks everyone for your feedback, I value it, please understand that I have to make some hard decisions and sometimes they are right and sometimes they are wrong. I hope you can understand this and hope that by saying these things I am not coming off as an asshole. To justify this though consider if every tiny thing I did was passed through for a public vote --- it's like working for 10-20 clients at once all with different idears
