Muse Guys, We are awfully close to getting Wusikstation3 working well on Receptor. The last problem I am encountering is this: Once loaded, if you try to UN-instantiate it, or load a different VSTi in it's place, it reboots the Receptor with this information in the log:
Jun 2 09:58:09 Hybernation-001 rm-host: wine: Unhandled exception (thread 0009), starting debugger...
Jun 2 09:58:09 Hybernation-001 rm-host: wine client error:9: write: Bad file descriptor
Is there anything "magic" I can try, say in the one of the XML files, that will make this go away? Other than this problem, the most recent beta of Wusikstation3 works very well on Receptor, and WilliamK has written a wonderful "preset-to-FXP" converted which makes setting up all your Wusik banks on Receptor very easy. It would be great to get past this one last hurdle, so any help you can offer would be much appreciated!
(ps. if I edit the "<uniqueID>" value in the info-cache.xml file this problem goes away, but then the patches will not install, so I'm hoping there is another way)
THANKS IN ADVANCE!
EDIT: NO FREAKING WAY!?!?!?!? I think I have solved this. On a whim, I tried changing the value of "<dont-zombify-plugin>" in the info-cache.xml file from 1 to 0 and the problem is gone. What the heck does this do (besides fix my problem) ?!?
ANOTHER EDIT: Please see latest post...the problem is back!

wine is a very funny animal...
This is my first posting on this forum. I just ordered my Receptor YESTERDAY!!!!
I did a little wine development a few years ago getting some widnows apps to run on Linux. There are a few config files that will determine the way the 'emulated' windows 'wrapper' treats the app you're trying to run. There are also a few hacks to getting your app working within wine. But since you're trying to load a plugin, that complicates things even more with wine. You can, however, set the debuging level to 'verbose'. that will give you much more meaningful output to try and figure it out.
A bit geeky, but there's lot's of info here: http://www.winehq.com
Good luck!

This is just so incredibly frustrating. The "fix" I thought I had discovered aparently doesn't "last". Today Wusikstation3 is doing the reboot when I un-instantiate as it was originally. I edited the "<dont-zombify-plugin>", this time setting it back to "1", and this seemed to fix it. Then I rebooted with multi button down, and the problem is back. Then I set to back to "0" and did that again, and the problem seems fixed. Then did a full shut down, expecting the problem to be back when I restarted, but the problem WASN'T back. This is pretty unpredictable behavior....the only thing I didn't to was completely cut the power to the unit after the shutdown (which I do at night). Any clues?Hybernation wrote:Muse Guys, We are awfully close to getting Wusikstation3 working well on Receptor.
