Nativi Instruments Guitar Rig 2 - is awesome!!

Im just saying that the capabilities of software guitar sims are equal to that of the so called "hardware" sims.
Because essentially, they are simply code with a DSP chip.
Same thing with the reverbs, delays -- whatever.
Now with pc power becoming even stronger, they can do the same job.
think what you wish, you are entitled to that.

does that mean you understand what I just said?
If so can you explain it to me

@Jason:
Hink is right, you need to do your research first, bro
Modern DSP chip beats modern CPU when it comes to audio processing and it will probably stay this way (since Moore's law is dead)
ps. Having said that, I'd always take the software route.... Only 'cos it's generally cheaper and upgradable

Esp. when we are talking about these guitar amp sims from the early 2000s ...

perhaps then, you can give me stats regarding the processing power of the podxt, vs. a modern, dual core 64 bit CPU?DaveSmom wrote:[sarcasm]I guess you can't teach a fool[/sarcasm]

not to counter my own argument, but i own the podxt, and i love it -- and it is VERY upgradable. However, the DSP chip is limited, and many complain of aliasing in some patches ....DaveSmom wrote:

and i dont feel it is as "Alive" as guitar rig 2

From Google, your global library:

There are millions of others, I'm sure

perhaps though, you can answer my question -- which was really the only thing in question.
does the podxt have more processing power than a modern cpu?
i think not.
A 5 year old DSP chip is not going to even compare to a modern CPU.
Hence, a pc running guitar rig or amplitube 2 actually has potential to sound much better, have more calcs per second in its emulation, than the podxt of the past
im not saying as a blanket statement dsp chips are weaker -- but we're talking 2 different eras here.
give me proof, in english, and perhaps ill give a crap what you say.
