I've been trying to rig my laptop with V-Stack. Got it working, but then I had all kinds of grounding issues, etc. and I'm fed up.Don't have time to deal with this on the gig.
What's the current maxed-out configuration for Receptor- max RAM, biggest HD, fastest CPU? And the price? I need this pretty quickly, so please help.
Ready to purchase - what's max config?

Hi SoundSmith
I ordered a 'Maxed out' configuration a few months ago (2g RAM, 400g HD). Muse Recommends that you DO NOT gig with this configuration, however says it is fine in the studio (mostly noise /airflow requirements). I have found that this configuration works smoother / faster than my other recepter (also with 2g ram (slower ram), 100g hd).
For me, this is my second unit, and I find it to be a bit faster and more stable than my other unit.
Things that make a difference:
I am told that the type of RAM makes a difference. Though receptor can be minimally loaded with PC 2700, Muse says that you get higher RAM bandwith with PC 3200 ram/DDR 400.
Also, larger caches on Disks helps (typically the larger HDs have these, but you should be able to get the same amount of cache on a 300g drive as a 400g drive - the difference being that MUSE OKs gigging with a 300g drive).
Hope this helps. Regards,
Kevin L

Thanks, kevin, yes it helps a lot. Sounds like I need the smaller drive, then, but I was thinking of RAM and CPU speed mostly, so this isn't an issue.
