External Usb drive not working.

Hi,
I would like to connect an external Usb 2.0 Drive (Samsung 2.5 80gb Ntfs splitted in 2 partitions).
The Receptor doesn't see the drive and when I power up the Receptor with the drive connected the Receptor doesn't start.
Do I need to format this drive in Fat32 ?
I have a 512kb USB key which is recognized by the Receptor.
