Does Rev C support USB for the Midi Controller?

Will I be able to play my M-Audio Prokeys88sx (and eventually Axiom 61) thru the US port, or will I have to use the MIDI in?

Post

Rev A or C doesn't make a difference, it's the system that requires the proper drivers to make use of a USB device.

Now, if M-Audio or Novation (and others) made Linux drivers available, we could hope Muse would integrate them in the Receptor system, but as it is not the case, I cannot see Muse support the USB connection for the X-Station, Keystation... specially when the normal MIDI connectino works fine.

The M-Audio Prokeys88sz states it is USB 1.1 compliant without need for further drivers (although they supply a set.) Rev C is a different mobo, so I have to assume the BIOS is somewhat different, and being a newer board... ? maybe? For generic drivers, atleast. Just a way to use two manuals for super-prtable organ without having to deal with additional merge boxes and pedal setups...

The Keystation doesn't need drivers ONLY if you use Windows XP or Mac OSX.

With Windows 98, 2000 or Mac OS9, you have to install drivers. Same thing with Linux, only there are no drivers for Linux.

I've been using a Keystation Pro 88 with my Receptor via USB since I got it almost a year ago. I've also connected a Prokeys 88 this way. Also tried an Evolution MC 461 with no problems. I've never used MIDI with the Receptor. Seems I read something about multiple controllers not working over USB (kinda like Windows without the driver updates) on Receptor. The Prokeys 88sx should be sending the exact same information as my Prokeys 88. I think I saw a thread on this forum about this already. Try a search and good luck.

Great! I also just saw a year-old review from Sound On Sound, great UK mag, that said it worked with some M-Audio products (and my main pk88sx board will be augmented with the Axiom 61 as soon as it's released. Then I'll need both ports (as usual, I'm overloading the machine before I have even received it...) :D
