To get OP-X to show up correctly on Receptor edit the -info-cache.xml file in your OPX folder (change the word "container" to "OP-X").PhilMuller wrote:This is going to seem like a dumb question but, I have download the "Eighties single patches and banks".. but now how do I get them into the Receptor. I tried putting them in "Drop Installers Here", but when I go into Setup nothing shows up... Help Please?
Also, When I installed OP-X on the Receptor it installed as "Container" within SonicProjects. This is very annoying - it being called "Container" instead of OP-X.
To install these eight patches (this worked for me anyway)....I created a folder in "Drop Installers Here" called "Eighties". Into this folder I put the 8 FXP files. SETUP page showed me "8 files" to install. After installing them, I now have a bank called "Eighties" in my OB-X's bank list.
Hope this helps!

It worked, Hurray! I guess the trick was to place the .fxp and .fxb files into a folder within "Drop Installers Here". Thank you very much. I am going to play with e OP-X all night long.Hybernation wrote:To install these eight patches (this worked for me anyway)....I created a folder in "Drop Installers Here" called "Eighties". Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to add an endorsement on Peter's behalf for version 1.4 of OP-X. 1.4 fixes the "high squeel" and "multi-instance" polyphony issues that were earlier reported. I find CPU usage average to higher (in the class of MiniMonsta), but still very workable on Receptor with other plugs going.
With these 1.4 fixes, I find OP-X much more stable and reliable. I will be using it as part of my gigging rig for those nice OB dynamic pads and leads (I find this much more compelling than any other OB sample sets I've tried).
For any of you sitting on the fence about OP-X on Receptor, things just got a lot better with 1.4.
Cheers,
Kevin L.

thanks kevin - yes, the bugs discussed at the beginning of this thread were fixed - no more high pitch artefacts and no more irregulasrities in multiple instance usage - the code has been rewritten where in was necessary - the updates (1.4) are currently sent to our customers (they're free of course)- I'd like to thank again for the detailed reporting of the behavoiour on receptor

Guess What? Things just got even better again!
OP-X Pro is out - it's an upgrade from OP-X with some very cool filtering options, and individual tuning controls on oscillators, filters, and portamento. Also fast-reacting Envolopes.
Works great on Receptor too!
Nice Job Peter!

I bought Pro, but I think my dll was corrupt because it won't install and Live won't even recognize it as a plugin. Has anybody had this probelm with OP-X Pro?looneytunes wrote:Guess What? Things just got even better again!

Hi Phil,
I had no problem installing on a regular PC Host (forte), and on Receptor. I think you might be right about the image being corrupted. I'm sure Peter would be happy to set you up with another DL if you explain the situation.
In Pro, there are some amazing patches that emulate leads on an OB8, Matrix, as well as other synths (like a Quadra). Peter really has seemed to capture the instabilities of analog hardware on this rev.
BTW - If you haven't tried Stringer, you should check that out too! It's amazing to hear well sampled string machines without aliasing (other romplers (eg eve, Ultrafocus, ...) expose loud sub-harmonics artifacts).
Regards,
Kevin L
