Hm. For some reason, I never really used them that much (though I do the multiple LFO thing in zeta+ for instance). I'll have to start messing with them.

I think pattern or sequenced gate would both make much better names.
That's quite a lot of food for thought, and I think blaster78's, shamann's and xoxos' could all do with further expanations as they all sound very interesting.
Are you all using exclusively gates for modulating volume, or are you modulating other parameters and/or triggering other effects, which pretty describes dblue's Glitch: One big sophisticated pattern gate.
