Hi Luigi,

Having a major problem with EVE 2 on my G5 iMac running 10.4.6, Edirol FA-101 firewire interface, Ableton Live 5.2. At what seems to be unpredictable moments, EVE 2 will not play sound properly and instead create LOUD popping noises, so loud it is making the instantaneous distortion alarm LEDs on my power amp light up. It is so loud that I can only assume it is bypassing the master output level in Ableton Live, as the Edirol FA-101 does not have a software mixer application.

I was thinking maybe it has something to do with the CoreAudio driver in OS X as this is what the FA-101 uses. Is there anything I can do for you to help you solve this problem, logfiles or some such? Also, is anyone else out there experiencing this problem?

Thanks,
Brett

Hi Brett,

thanks for the report, and sorry for your trouble with EVE 2,

could you temporarely try it the with the internal Mac audio card? just to see if the fireware Edirol
is the incompatible bit

Yes... This "crackle of death" was in the beta... but I thought It was fixed! Hmmm, apparently not... I'm using Logic 7.1.1 and OSX 10.4.6 on a Dual G5 2.0 Basically you have to close the plug and reload it... I'm having some other issues as well, which I hope can be fixed. May just be the OSX version

very sorry DHR53 for your EVE troubles,

Aldo, who now substitutes Adrian, is looking into that,
so far it was playing correctly but maybe we have another OS X,

also I suspect the Dual core, <sigh>

BTW just as info, a refund is always possible if you ask
