I guess I should have said "to testing it first to hear what it really can do", as MP3 demos usually tell very little about what a plugin can do (you know, hearing it processing your own sounds, within your own work's context, applied the way you'd apply it).

Hence not even paying attention to the MP3 on their site - most of the time I don't check for MP3 examples when it comes to effects, synths on the other hand...

And when it's people like all these Colored Forces, it's extremely good that there is the possibility of commenting their great work when it comes to interfaces :) and knowing they'll see the feedback.

Knowing Predatohm though, and bManic's ears and taste, I have no doubts whatsoever about the sonic capabilities of this thing.

I guess that we'd be talking about the audio side of things had this thread had a link to the MP3 demo instead of the screenshot. That's just the way it goes.

I rejoice in the diversity of our universe. :D I, for my part, find the Funky Skin far easier to use, clearer to follow, and more inspiring to work with than the Classic Skin. Symptohm remains my favorite virtual instrument plug-in (with very few products even coming close), at least in part because the ST&W graphic schema matches the ST&W sounds it makes.

I am burning with curiosity about Ohmicide as I type this, and the melohman.com/ohm blog site is (hopefully temporarily) 404. I weep.

It looks great!

Since you are developing the GUI in 3D, it would be great if we could play with a rotatable preview in PDF or Quicktime :)

I really like the "Ohmicide" font.

gui looking sharp!

Q. will it have lots of new distortion types? and is there much overlap with predatohms types? some more mad ones like the 'raphosaure' i hope.

Post

It will have a *lot* of new distortions type. Actually every distortion from Predatohm has been reworked, and a lot of completely new one have been added. So you will find a new Raphosaure and way more that will makes Raphosaure sounds relatively reasonable. Actually the current disto mode knob has all *classical* one to left and all *topmodern* to the right. Raphosaure is on the left side :)

To give you an idea of the kind of difference, I suggest checking this post:http://www.ohmforce.com/blogs/page/ohm/20060629

Looking forward to checking this out!

Also, what about the long ago rumoured Quad Frohmage Extreme, or is it incorporated into this beast?
