Don't want to pick on Podium but I must also say that I really, really, really tried to get into its workflow but just never happened.

I still don't see what people find so hard with Podiumaallvor wrote:Yeah, that thing was a total headfuck. Since then I've stopped flirting with other hostsfandango wrote:

These days I just go "new project" -> "quick setup" and start making noise. Not that I'm a hardcore Podium user or anything, but still.
One of these days I must get into EnergyXT as well. Seems so cool

n-track. Not too bad handling audio, MIDI was buggy, crashed and crashed. The few included FX weren't much, quality-wise, and were also buggy buggy buggy. Did I mention it has a lot of bugs?

stefancrs: The actual setup and get-go of Podium is absolutely fine. It's just that I really have to think hard about things like send busses etc. Making sure that the Return bus is inside the return effect and that the inserts etc. are before the generators etc.
It's incredibly powerful, but sometimes when composing in Podium I end up staring at this huge collection of heirarchies and going slightly cross-eyed...
... which is a shame, as it's incredibly stable and has lots of nice features.

My vote goes to FLstudio. Personally I don't like its (toyish) graphical interface and its (anti-creative) workflow even tho I tried the demos of every new release since 2000...

If there would've been a poll, we would've been able to see an interesting observation.
In the most recent "what's your favourite host" poll cubase came to top by a mile. If this was a poll as well, we would also see that it's the most hated one.
This always happens in polls, VH1 and all the english mags with their "what's the greatest/worst" as good example.
You might as well have written "what's the most average/mediocre/boring host", and cubase would've come on top as well.

Protools
I don't actually have much against it other than I haven't got any real need for it at all. BUT I work with a lot of professionals, amateurs and people who don't have any qualified opinion on the matter, all of which have this mindset that if it's not Protools then it's not "pro" at all
I don't know where the idea comes from but it drives me mental. It's also the same group of people who'll shit on anything that doesn't have "Mackie", "Allen & Heath" or "SSL" written on it.
