 really?
I hate sawstudio. It's the ugliest thing I've ever seen on a computer screen. I fail to see through its ugliness.

Off topic: I love REAPER.

I'm shocked at how many dislike Live. It is the easiest host i have ever used.

I guess you dont know what "fun" means.
Yeah, actually he does. Considering him and I joined around the same time, I can say with authority that we've both seen at least 30 identical predecessors of these 'fun' time-wasting POS threads that do nothing but stand as an excuse for most not to get better aquainted with the software they diss here and actually do something productive..

Jeez. I just realized I'm not being fun. Not very 'Dude' of me..

BUT I work with a lot of professionals, amateurs and people who don't have any qualified opinion on the matter, all of which have this mindset that if it's not Protools then it's not "pro" at all :x I don't know where the idea comes from but it drives me mental. It's also the same group of people who'll shit on anything that doesn't have "Mackie", "Allen & Heath" or "SSL" written on it.
 Sorry, I had to dig this up from the second page. The same group of people who are snobbish about Protools like Mackie gear and lump it in with A&H and SSL? That's a laugh.

Maybe it's all about the users, not the software. Let me be very mean for a moment and try to charactize (and exagerate of course) each hosts users:

SX3 / Sonar: Music industry equivalent of accountants
Protools: "Don't you know I'm a pro?"
FL Studio: Teens and fanboys
Orion: Only two users - Bones & Kriminal
Logic: Supporters of corporate evil (PC betrayl not forgotten)
N-Track: People who should have known better
Reaper: Ex-musicians now more interested in beta testing
Traktion: Cheap-ass zealots
Ableton Live: Smug fashion victims

( It's just a laugh OK )

i used psycle, then cmuzys, then tracktion nfr. psycle is cute, but trackin is a pain for me. cmuzys gave me a piano roll, but had no routing and strange midi editing. i got the free tracktion, and i've been makin music with ease. seems it was made for idiots like me

edit: however, my tracktion sometimes acts like it's still in beta...but it was free!

Sonar

Only because it 100% crashed my systems: Win 98 SE and XP over 3 separate computers. 100% relable to crash and not work properly for me after a max of 2 weeks. Even the albums I wrote on it were a pain because it was always dumping work. Shame because otherwise not a bad bit of kit.

Anyone want to buy Sonar 2.2?

the impression i get just reading comments about fl studio is that it's building block oriented. i also gather it has a problem with chords. in fl studio can you just play what you want as long as you want and have a midi recording just as played? can you record and edit automation over the whole song? can you record audio? i just get the impression that it's as stated; a glorified drum machine

Of course it can do all of those things; my problem with FL is that it just seems to me that these features were added in a rather inelegant fashion after the inital program release.

Howie Mandel is the worst host ever.
How this fucktard keeps getting work is one of life's biggest mysteries.
He says he is a germaphobe and can not stand being touched in any way by other people, but people I know who have met him say he is just an asshole.
I want to duct tape him to a chair in his house and then make him watch as I go around rubbing my ass and balls on all his stuff.
Then I am going to take a piss on his carpet and then tip him in his chair over into it.
Then I am going to point and laugh at him as he tries to sqirm out of the wet spot.
Then when I leave I am going to take a shit in the front seat of his car.
I hate that fuckin dickhead

Agreed bought my copy of Logic just before they anounced the switch to Mac only. :box: :smack:

Luckily Steinberg offered a cool crossgrade offer and I am now a "happy" SX user

Terratec 24/96 sound card, ATI all-in-wonder x600 graphics card, Windows XP Home SP2, Steinberg Cubase SX2, Reason 2.5
