Is the Receptor supposed to turn off after no use for a bit?

My new receptor keeps turning off after a while (no more than 30 minutes) and I have to unplug it and let it sit before it will boot-up again. Nothing is wrong with my electricity and other devices chug right along. I am also not pulling that much wattage on that wall - so it's not that.

This can't be normal?

I'd say definitely not. You might want to get that sucker looked at.

Mine has stayed on for hours without switching itself off. Unless there is a setting that sends it to sleep after a certain period of time (unknown to me) then I'd concur with Watto.

I've only had it a week - so "getting it looked at" would rather be "return the damned thing, it's defective"

Thanks for the heads up. I was enjoying it for a little while, but this has really pissed me off.

When this happened to me, it turned out to be a bad power supply...I noticed the same exact symptoms after only a few days of use. I'll bet that is what it is.

The good news is...once I got the power supply replaced, the receptor has been nothing short of brilliant. The company is generally quite responsive to its customers and you shouldn't have any trouble getting this dealt with.

Keep your chin up and open a support ticket on Plugorama...you'll be in good hands.

Sincerely,
Matt Corey
