You have got a new order! :)

Thanks man!

Wow. The new skin looks fantastic - it all feels a lot more "modern". The new VST grouping is great!

Weird issue #1: I first copied over my settings files to the new install and ran LUNA. It hit the CPU 100% and I had to kill it.
Weird issue #2: I had to reboot to be able to use Firefox after that!

I'm posting this before trying again ;).

Okay -- that's repeatable. Copying in the settings is not a good idea. I bet it's the changes to the ASIO stuff that's the problem.

Yes, it's the ASIO changes that cause the lock up but even skipping the audio settings, the changes to the skinning mean that copying over your Settings really isn't worth it.

Yeah!...Very good implementation of multi-outs on vsti's!

Jo

You have obviously put a lot of thought into this update and your efforts are really beginning to pay off. The improvements you have made to Luna's workflow, stability and responsiveness make the programme even more rewarding to use. Nothing bad to report so far and I have really been trying to put Luna through its paces to see if I can break it.

The new skins are great but I do hope that you have not dropped LooxTeak and LooxVoidex (the more skins the better!). My own skin is based mainly on the LooxTeak template so it would be useful to have a copy of the new version so I can update my skin more easily.

As usual my observations are mainly GUI related. Although I like the idea of the collapsing audio mixer strips, I do think that the text can become unreasonably small in the channel strips. Would it be possible to put a limit to how small the text can be minimised?

PR2 is looking great...definitely like the new skin. Two questions: 1) it doesn't look like PR2 will load MrRay73 still? is this upcoming? and 2) how can you set the quantize parameters (16th, 1/4, swing, etc)?

Post

I don't think Joe has added swing/shuffle yet.
Lets keep bugging him so we can shuffle in PR3. ;)

Joe I like the way rendering is handled by the way(selected parts).
Arguably better than the track by track method that most host/sequencers use, since it helps save screen space by using less tracks.
Luna's workflow, and solid midi editing are are deffinant strong points.

Strange...

Anyway, thanks for this feedback!

So maybe it's safer to copy all settings files except for "AudioSetup.txt".

Currently, they're put on the shelf. But you can still edit them, if you want ;)

The small texts may not be very readable anymore, but their "iconic" appearance can hint you that something is plugged in there, and maybe you can even read/feel/guess what's plugged in.

Of course, you can focus the mixerstrip, then it grows to full width, with clear details.

Yeah, Thanks to Branislav and Victor!

Indeed, some stupid little bug slipped thru in LUNA PR2, so that there is still a problem with MrRay 73.

An updated version of LUNA will be released asap!
and 2) how can you set the quantize parameters (16th, 1/4, swing, etc)?
Not yet supported.

I think I tried that but the windows didn't draw properly or something. I'll have to try it again.

Ah yes - the line in LUNA.Txt that defines the skin:
GraphicsFolder={Application}/Graphics/LooxVoidex
or
GraphicsFolder={Application}/Graphics/LooxShark
If the skin folder doesn't exist, the application doesn't draw the UI properly.

True, you're right, again.

Taken note of the issue.

Got a DrWatson:
http://www.drealm.info/luna/20060707-drwtsn32.log

I drew a controller curve to automate the gain slider on a MIDI instrument mixer channel. I turned on loop sequence (is that the way to get the selection to loop?) and the channel fader slid up and down nicely.

I then changed the player to the MIDI instrument and started playing - then got the error.

I guess you automated the gain slider of a VSTI, right?

I tried to simulate it here, using synth1, but no crash.

I saw in the log that the crash occured in Nubi.dll.

Could it be the plug?
