I am going completely out of my mind, and I'm ready to throw this thing through the window. I have multiple keyboard setups that absolutely require a very specific B4 library to be loaded. No matter how I save, the progam always loads the factory library, or some wierd variation, but I cannot get the proper lib to show up.
I am loading a multi with B4 II, Silver piano, several other instruments. Depending on the gig, I use different keyboard rigs, and have two different two-manual setups, other times just one keyboard. because i chabge patches on the fly, and control settings on the B4 and the synths with controllers, I am set up to send ccs to the VSTi, and change Instrument Patch, not Single or Multi.
I have been a computer programmer/analyst for 25 years and a musician for 50, this should not be this damn complicated.
But it comes down to me wanting to do it MY way, and may not be possible...
B4 II will not load the proper library...

Make sure that you do not rely on B4 II's built-in patch management, but rather the Receptor preset management, to store and recall your settings. MIDI program changes are not passed directly to the VSTi, but to Receptor. It seems to me that you are probably calling up patches within the B4 II GUI and then they are not being recalled when you re-load the multi or send a corresponding patch change. Try creating your own B4 II preset bank, and storing each patch from the libary in question into the new Receptor bank (ie, you will call up the batch from the B4 GUI but then save it using Receptor's preset management). Make sure you are sending the correct bank select numbers as well (diplayed conveniently on the bottom left of any Receptor patch manager window).
We are using B4 II on the road with no problems, although possibly not asking as much from it as you are. Our keyboardist just calls up a basic single manual patch for the show and controls all the drawbars, rotor speed/brake, perc. and vibrato/chorus via MIDI CCs from his controller keyboards.

I usually wind up first saving to the VSTi, then the Library, then reload the patch FROM the library, re-storing to the VSTi then re-storing to the library. When the entire bank has been set up and organzed, I save the VSTi lib, Then I do the same with the Multi.
But I have several rigs - a one keyboard with Voce controller, a 2-manual version with XP-30 on top which uses the contoleer as well as on-board synth sounds and the lower keyboard as lower manual or piano or several synths and a third version based around the Axiom 61 as upper manual. So I need several variations on patch libraries to make it work, as each setup has different default presets.
I have done as you suggest re saving to an individual bank, except because I am passing cc data to the VSTi, I have turned off bank select. That sounds like where the problem lies. I will have to set up all the NRPNs, which I have been trying to avoid, it's much faster to link directly to the VST, and it seems to me there is one less abstraction layer to deal with when trying to map out multiple nstrument multi performances.
What's frustrating is that one of these bank setups works great, but the other always opens up with the 'Turn off drawbar 1 when percussion is on' option turned off, so my standard JOS 3rd preset, in which I also pull drawbar 9 (888000008) to get a quick extra preset - turn off percussion - comes up with the drawbar audible.
I guess I'll just have to try all this to see if I can make it work. Thanks.
