I think you allude to losing of settings (now that I'm reading the manual!) if the user switches to a mode where the filter type isn't available. In the explaination of Maximum Phase I found this:

"As a bonus the famous bugpass filters can be used here to apply a very steep cutoff. Keep in mind that these filters are not available in the 'Analog' and 'Digital' mode. By switching back, the settings get lost."

There are a hella lot features packed into this EQ - great job! As someone else recently mentioned - Old Train '63

Oops - I've got it now. I'm losing my Electri-Q settings because "Auto-Filter" kicks in if I accidentally right-click out side of an EQ node. At my age this is gonna happen a lot!

Christian - Maybe there's a way for a user to turn off "Auto-Filter" in the future?

Yes I'm getting this also in Sonar5. After selecting gain-only filter - loud sputtering, lots of cpu cycles & looping for 5 seconds or so then the distortion due to +18dbfs output from Electri-Q (v1.5.2 beta). I was using Maximum Phase at the time, Digital mode does it also.

I was just trying to use a gain filter to set the volume of the plugin output for proper A/B comparison after setting 3 of the fantastic sounding transient filters (those are really fun!).

Plans are made to make the whole behaviour configurable. This way you can build your own setup depending on your age ;-)

Anyway the gain bug has been fixed in the latest version (1.5.2 (official), on our server: http://www.aixcoustic.com/uploads/media ... nstall.exe)

Kind regards,

Update (couldn't edit previous post for some reason) - Gain issue appears fixed in Sonar5 with Electri-Q v1.5.2 "official" release. Thanks Christian! :tu:

Just a suggestion : I guess all the features must be mentionned into the manual, isn't it ?
So, wouldn't it be a good idea to put the whole pdf manual online (without having to install the .exe version of the plugin before being able to read it) ?
I mean, i come from Poshfopit, which was so much full of features, tricks, shortcuts, etc which were not so obvious while looking at the GUI. And ELectri-Q is even more powerfull, so pepople mighn't be aware of Electri-Q 's full potential just haviong a quick look at the plugin's GUI...

We'll take that into account and update the homepage ASAP.

Thanks for the info,

So thats why I couldn't find the manual :)

Several times I was able to dial-in the "EQ of the century" only to hit a wrong button or kick in some feature that wipes out my settings.
I've repaired the 'Undo' function. Anyway it'll be a goodie for the next version, since we need some more time for final betatests. If you can't wait, send me a mail to receive the latest version.

Thanks for putting the undo feature in Christian. I can wait for the next release now that I'm getting better at not right-clicking outside of the EQ nodes and kicking in auto-filter... anyway it's cool to hit reset every once in a while to get better at dialing in my settings - kind of like free training!

Christian - one more minor nit/workaround. Maybe you guys know about this already. Concerning v1.5.2 "official".

Sometimes when I change the value of an EQ node (double-click node for edit mode) I have to manually touch the node with Mr. Mouse before the spline changes in the display. Another way to see this is to load a saved preset on top of a different EQ pattern. Some of the display follows the node pattern, by touching one of the "orphaned" nodes the EQ shape completes and the spline pattern then touches all nodes.

The workaround for this one is to simply touch the appropriate EQ node with the mouse.

Talking of problems, does anybody know how can you change the gain range in Electri-Q? It was a piece of cake in Posihfopit. +-15db is way too much for my needs. I've tried editing the skin file and the registry.

This isn't possible anymore. It causes some trouble, so I decided to disable it. No-one complains, until now. It should take about half a day to make it work again.
But it's not yet the most important thing.

 oh, ok. I thought it was possible in some normal way. Usually, if one needs to apply more than 8-10db of EQ, that means one's better off changing the sound than EQ-uing it :D. To me, even +-6db is somewhat extreme, but sometimes I use it, mostly for "creative" purposes.
