Is it possible to have one keyboard connected via MIDI on Receptor and another keyboard connected via USB at the same time? And control both of them like that?

No MIDI via USB for the time being.

Hi Ingvar,
I'm not sure I agree with Kermit. I quite often use 2 controllers, one via USB, and one via MIDI. The only thing is you need to make sure that the KBD you use on USB is one that has been tested on Receptor. I've used the Oxygen8, Keystation 61, and Xboard successfully.
Regards,
Kevin L.
PS. Perhaps, Kermit, what you meant was no 2 keyboards via USB at the same time. I agree with this, that will not work.

No, I thought you couldn't transmit MIDI via USB, It certainly doesn't work with my Keystation 88 nor with my X-Station so I have to use MIDI, USB only serving to power the controllers.

I am using a Prokeys 88sx as lower manual via USB and upper manual is currently a Roland XP30. They are both seen as part of the same 16 midi channels, so you shouldn't have both transmitting on channel 1, for example. But I am playing B4 II with lower manual on channel 6 and upper on 1 - no problem.
Not all keyboards may work via USB (if they require custom drivers, it will be a problem) but this rig is working great for now. I have an Axiom 61 due in Friday or manday, that will be the true test.

The one caveat i've found when using MIDI over USB w/ the receptor is, you can't disconnect the USB cable and re-connect it while the power's on. The receptor won't pick the keyboard back up. This also means you can't hard-cycle the power on the MIDI controller either. The safest bet for me has been to have the keyboard plugged in already when you boot up the receptor. That said, i've had good success using the following MIDI devices over USB: M-Audio Radium 61 (controller), Yamaha S90 (keyboard/workstation), and Roland GI20 (guitar synth).

Peterfs asked me about the Axiom 61, as he is interested, and frakly, I think it's the most flexible midi cintroller with the possible exception of the CME line (but thier gear is not well built, unfortunately - MANY user issues, which is why I don't have one, even though I really want the breath controller I/F.)
I will receive my Axiom 61 next week, and once I have gotten it working with Receptor, I will post a detailed review, assuming it works properly (not like the VFK-88, which has all the features but comes with such a slow processor that it is completely useless for anything requiring continuos controller activiy, like organ volume or manual synth filter sweeps.)
m-Audi generally builds class-compliant USB gear, so I'm hoping the drivers will not be needed. If they are, it will still be usable via midi, so it really doesn't matter unless you are using a second keyboard that is NOT USB-equipped.
