I use Izotope's Vinyl for this. Also, Sampletank free had a lo-fi effect that would also do this.

Not really what you were looking for, but Rez Synth is kind of fun...

YOU PEOPLE ARE INSANE! None of those suggestions are anywhere near what he is looking for. But I have the answer:

http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1310.html <-- Might crash a lot. I am working with the developer on this.

These two plugins are EXTREMELY good at generating staticy random white noise. The first link uses input to generate white noise. The second is a straight staticy white noise generator.

THANK YOU, what do I win?

Oh, but you're not talking about Noise Reduction, are you?

Thanks, Joe
take any synth that makes white noise and send it through a nice distortion, then bitcrushing, and then maybe stereo delay for depth.

and no, you lose too. Actually chase, the right technique is this: Take a good filter with a fast noise LFO (randomly oscillating FAST lfo) as an insert. control the output of that filter with another filter to control noise color. Add some dry signal if you want.

so , archie ...
are you saying reaktor is not a vst ?...
or that it couldn't be added 'over the top' of a synth ?...
or both ?...
or what ?...

Ok, reaktor is a vst, but skrewell itself is not a VST. You require Reaktor to use Reaktor's devices. and yes, it CANNOT be added over a synth. That would require Skrewell to have an audio input and shape it.

So the only good noise is that noise blessed by your righteous hand? :tu:

Do you really want to have a white noise pissing contest here?

That's not the point. The original poster wants white noise static imbedded in the sound of the synth. Your method is completely off as you are describing a continuous flow of static.

Well the best way to do that is via peak controller

Post

peak controller? whaaaa.... ill take your word for it as I have no idea what you mean. All I can think of is massive clipping. Is that what you mean?
