Hi guys,

I'm trying to install a plugin. I'd rather not say what the plugin is if I can possibly avoid it, for reasons which will become clear in the coming weeks... ;-)

Anyway, when I try to install it, it fails, and system log reads:

Code: Select all

Jul 13 13:42:34 Receptor-227285 rm-host: err:module:import_dll Library gdiplus.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\VST Plugins\\Unsupported Plugins\\XXxxx\\XXxxx.dll") not found
...XXxxx being the plugin.

Anyway, I thought (as I was hoping to get it up and running quickly) I'd find this gdiplus.dll file myself, and install it in my windows/system directory. That didn't work either, so I've deleted it.

Any help appreciated!

Watto :)

Find gdiplus.dll on your computer and put it in the /windows/system folder on your Receptor. That should do it. If not, have you tried restarting (tripple click and whatnot).

I had the same request from a plug, can't remember which. The gdiplus.dll was in the Windows system32 folder and needed to be placed in Windows/system on Receptor. I also believe that there could be several gdiplus.dll files in your system and that the plug won't work if it's not the right one you transfer to Receptor. So if you find two gdiplus.dll files in your PC, try one then the other.

oGG is right, do a multi/power x 3 manip as well before installing your plug.

Edit: I think the plug that needed the gdiplus file was Minimogue VA.

Thanks guys - will try those tips in the morning, although I have already tried two versions of gdiplus in the system AND the plugin's folder.

I'm no longer getting requests for gdiplus, as the dev has updated the plug without it, but it now says it needs MSVCR80.dll - I've tried installing it in both system folders, with no luck. Are there multiple versions of this dll as well?
