As apotential customer, I want to know how many tracks receptor can run of BFD, DIMENTION PRO, Z3TA, RAPTURE and IVORY PIANO at 96htz 24bit and how much headroom if any would be left. At present my 2mb, 2ghz pc runs 1 BFD track 4or 5 audio and just one other of the above. If their is more than one model of receptor please state which. Thank you.

I don't know that you would achieve much benefit from the 96KHz sampling rate with these softsynths, and it's going to cost you heavily in processing power/polyphony. I run Receptor at the default 44.1 KHz sample rate and Ivory sounds spectacular; not using any of the other products you list so I can't comment on your potential performance.

What else do you usualy run concurrently on receptor with ivory and how many tracks. What is the spec of your receptor and can it run at 44.1khz with the daw at96khz. I just seem to be getting really good vocals at the moment at 96khz but it may be due to other newly aquired factors. I will repete the project at 44.1 to check. thanks for your help. PS, how do you rate recepter against getting amore powerfull pc.

I'm not suggesting that you change your DAW sample rate - 96KHz is great for acoustic sources...but most sample libraries are not recorded at 96KHz, so there is little to be gained by running Receptor at that rate. Of course interfacing the DAW and Receptor digitally would be a problem in that case - I would probably just take the analog outs, it sounds wonderful. We have Ivory running with B4 II, Absynth, FM7, Kompakt (mostly string samples), and MiniMonsta. This is a live situation, so although all plugins are instantiated, never more than 3 really playing at once - but sometimes considerable polyphony with big sustained Ivory layered with Kompakt strings, B4 II organ fills at the same time...no problems. This Receptor has 2GB RAM, 160GB HD. Whether to choose Receptor over a PC is really a matter of personal preference in a studio environment, but for live performance I think the Receptor wins easily.
