Samba Country/Freeztar (w/ Xander): As it says, F's great new drum kit, and Xander does Elvis/Bono. Gtr is suitably barmy for the genre mix-up. Solo especially.Cool!

Yeah, i was hesitant to ask because if it were samples, i know some would allow that to affect their voting decision but it sounded authentic to me and i was curious to see if that were the case.Markleford wrote: Well, that's a real harmonica played by me, if that's what you mean.

Now that's scary! Now there's a cool new nick! Elvis Bono
Hmmm... will this require a wardrobe change?

Spain/Scoops (w/guitarjeff): Get outa here, you bums!Way too pro. Piano/perc/drums are very fusion, the guitar is what you'd expect. Has a tune, all kinds of odd features. The jeff solo is over the top in a clever way. This stuff is unfair competition, in my book

I think that I was pretty tired when I wrote that description of my track. What I meant to say was that these guys weren't metel guitarists, they were prog-rock musicians! Metel players usually don't use extreme fuzztones or E-Bows, and when was the last time you ever heard a Geoff Downes type synth solo on a dance track, much less a four-part guitar orchestration? There's also a live bass line lurking in there.funkychickendance wrote:First Impressions 4:
btw, y'all should know this is what I type into Notepad while listening. Little post-editing is done. First impressions, geddit?
Disturbulence/Dreibel: Dance track, with the entry of heavy metal cliches. Yeah, it works, but it's not incredibly novel concept-wise, eh? Is it all a bit too straight for this jokey contest?Am I asking too much? Good guitars, good production.

Can't help picturing the Pirates of the Carribean though.
