2 USB keyboards at once? Sorry, Charlie...

Probably someone has already tried and reported on this - I put My Axiom 61 and my Prokeys 88sx into Receptor simultaneously via 2 USB ports. It would not even load, continual crashes until I unplugged one of the USB cords, then it boots just fine.
So don't try it (though note to Muse, sure would be cool to be able to do this...)

Yes, that's what I do, and it works just fine. I was trying to cut down on the number of cable configurations, as I run the rig in three or four live configurations, depending on the band and gig. I have one manual Prokeys88sx as single, split with bass and as lower manual for XP30 or lower manual with Axiom61. So four primary setups, three different cable configurations.
But it works great as Axiom and 88sx...

Hmmm. Velly intellestink. Thanks for pointing this out, we'll take a look at it and see what might be the problem. I know that one USB and one MIDI keyboard attached works fine...

Hi Groovology,
I also noticed something bizarre yesterday - my USB mouse, which works perfectly on all other occasions, was jumping all over the place when I had a USB keyboard plugged in. Most annoying!
Anyone else experienced that?

I have! I had an optical mouse connected to Receptor this weekend. I was mousing on top of the Receptor's powder coated finish and it was jumpy as can be. Putting a mouse pad beneath it completely fixed the problem.
Is yours an optical or rollerball mouse?

Hmmm... Are you sure that the rollerball contact surfaces are clean? I've used Receptors with USB mice extensively, and I've never had any problems with rollerball or optical mice except when mousing on the top cover of the unit using an optical mouse. For some reason, the optical mice just don't like the finish on the Receptor housing. You might want to try another mouse??
One thing to keep in mind, you can not MIX between USB and PS2 peripherals... both have to be USB, or both have to be PS2. If you have one of one type and one of the other, Receptor will not work properly.

I have had similar occurences of the mouse jumping, or refusing to stay in one area on the screen. The I realized - I had the GUI open on the Receptor with KVM attached, and also had it open on one of my studio computers. To be honest I never actually shut down the network connection to determine if this was the source of the problem, I just made a mental note and kept doing what I was doing, but it's a possible cause...
BTW, I would absolutely love to be able to use two USB ports as well as the midi port, even if I still only had 16 channels - one concern might be power, but my second keyboard does not get power from the bus.

I'll make sure this gets into future product specs...you are the 2nd person this week to ask about attaching multiple USB keyboards to their Receptor, so I'll make sure it gets on "the list".

Great! Thanks. Now, if you could add selective midi muting on the channels (disallow patch change on a channel or in the strip.)
